NFL Thread 12-13

For once in the history of JF, Thriller has the best take on the thread. If the guy had just batted the ball down GB gets the W and the NFL gets to keep pretending it's prison guard refs are OK.

The way I saw it was he was behind the wr and wasnt in a good position to just simply bat the ball away.

I said 10. Almost every prognosticator says 4 or less, so if you want to go off that then our odds should be about 5/1? I'm no expert at odds.

PS didn't your avatar blow up Ketchup Field?

I looked it up the o/u on the Browns is at 5 right now.

Wanna just change your sig now bro?

It's coming. After we beat the rats and the G's consecutively this thing is turned around. Still, 0-3 doesn't feel good.

Keep in mind Weeden is not being eased in or given his college playbook like the other rooks. He's been required to make reads and check all over the field. He's been improving every game in that regard and his decisions have been getting faster and better. Losing Haden to that adderol thing was huge and the secondary really looks poor without him. Still I feel a big streak of wins coming. These guys have a lot of talent and whenever Weeds gets his timing with the young skill players it's going to have a tremendous effect on the scoreboard. Benji lost his end zone cherry Sunday, Gordon and Cameron will get in there soon.

I'm not too worried just yet. 0-5 and I'll quiet down lulz.

Tons of flags. Reviews taking forever. No rhythm to the game at all. These replacement replacement refs have got to go.

Either that or it's a Browns game.

LOL.

Yeah, a big streak with the likes of at Baltimore, at NY Giants, vs. Cincy, at Indy, vs. San Diego, vs. Baltimore, at Dallas, Pitt over the next eight games. LULZ.

God bless you bro.

Thanks, I'm not religious though. Seriously, even you were probably rooting for us there through the 4th quarter. Kudos to Ed Reed who miraculously sped to the pass just in time to put a hand on that game tying throw. Wow, that was a great game. I told you we were coming. We will beat the G's and can compete with anyone.

The Browns need to get Richardson more touches. He is by far their most dangerous player. The Ravens were never that far ahead for Cleveland to abandon the running game.

Browns aren't going to win many games when Weeden is forced to throw the ball 50+ times. He's not a bad QB but he's not going to carry you either - not at this point in his career. And Greg Little needs to start catching the frickin ball!!!!

Dennis Pitta - zero catches, only 2 targets. So much for the new fantasy sleeper.

I liked the play calling for the most part. Baltimore was crowding the lanes so what we had to do was beat them beyond the LBs. Weeds did that, almost enough. Those guys were keying on Trent (as they should) and Ngata was retarded awesome as usual. Trent would have had close or above 100 yards and a ton more touches if it wasn't for the pick 6. After that the Browns had to try to hurry a little more.

While I'm talking about play calls I really was impressed with the Raven's play calling. Very very in touch with the flow of the game. It really was a testament to how hard my own guys played to keep from getting blown out. Baltimore was able to get big yards multiple times simply by calling the other coaches' play.

But no, In this case I think you're wrong Candrew. Keep in mind Trent was also thrown to a fair amount. Running him over and over was not going to work against that ridiculous pair of NTs they have.

Edit to add: We have found our QB. That dude made some mistakes to be sure but bounced back to make some great, really great throws. I really like this Weeden. Was a little sad to see so little of our young untested phenom Josh Gordon. We could have used him on a desperate rainbow up for grabs type pass at least twice. Anyways no Wes, I'm not ready to call it a season.

The Browns seem to have a good future ahead of them, though they're another draft or two off from it. Much like the Colts, though unfortunately for Browns fans it seems like they've been reloading forever.

I never said run him over and over again.

I believe he had two catches and one carry the last 20 minutes of the game. And Cleveland was never down by more than 2 scores. You gotta find ways to get your franchise player involved.

Cleveland has a pretty good defense against TEs. They were focused on him which allowed Bolden to get going. Combine that with a short week after a big emotional win over the Pats and a letdown was expected.

Using your logic, Ray Rice sucks. He merely scored 8 points in PPR on ESPN. Didn't even get 50 yards rushing.

Don't worry little brother, Pitta will be back to his scoring ways next week. You can't count on Bolden to play like the Bolden of 5 years ago. Nor should you expect Pitta and Rice to give folks nothing in fantasy. It just... Doesn't happen.

I would agree, gotta give Richardson the ball more.

And Little's hands... Ugh... They almost overcame a 1st and 36 was it? If only Little had caught it...

love it the team I'm playing against started Pitta. I have a feeling I'm going 7-0 to start the fantasy season

It's not that you are wrong, Richardson is awesome. Just that Weeden's pick 6 really changed the game. After that they had to hurry. He was in the game and had several key blocks to allow Weeds to throw passes. Normally after a loss I'm second guessing the play calls but in this case there was only a couple I didn't like. There was actually one play where I told my wife "we could run a nice draw here", and they did, only Ngata blew it to hell.

I guess that's why those guys get paid.
