What's new

NFL Thread 12-13

I sure thought we'd had the anti-venom delivered when Art died but dang if that wasn't a snakebit game.

If somebody else can tell me about a game when the punter has the biggest contribution in a loss I'd love to hear about it. The fall of Hodges from hero a couple years ago taking a fake against NO 60 yards or thereabouts to fumbling an XP hold and shanking a crucial late punt with shades of Frost.

There were certainly positives to be seen particularly Weeden looked tremendous, especially with no run supporting him. Gordon is a legit weapon.

Browns board is utterly toxic. Wes maybe should make a thread for sig suggestions.

I'll be a gentleman and wait 'til the season's over.

I put Richardson back in my lineup literally 2 minutes before kickoff - glad I did. Nice effort.

I benched Steve Smith for Malcom Floyd a lil before kickoff.

Cuz... We all know how great the Panthers O has been and how crappy the Bears D has been.....

How does Norv Turner have a job? 6 points against Cleveland???

The weather there was really bad. Heavy rain & wind. Rivers had a tough time throwing accurately. But yea, Norv Turner sucks.

Not a good fantasy weekend for me...

Floyd bombed while Smith had a good game against the Bears.

Brees is having a nightmare game. On ESPN he has only given me 7 points. This, coming from a guy who had given me nearly 30 points the past 3 weeks.

I'm only down by 5 by I'm really regretting not starting Steve Smith and Big Ben today.

At least next week my opponent's starting QB, Tom Brady, is out on bye. All the QBs on the waiver wire right now suck. So... Advantage me... I'd think... Unless... Brees has another horrible week...

Man his defense sucks. I think Spagnolo is a seriously overrated coach. He sucked in St. Louis and has sucked in NO. Maybe he just couldn't help being good in New York because of their unbelievable Dline?

Alex Smith missed one pass (dropped ball) and 3 TD's. Who would have thought we would eventually see this Alex playing after all this time.
Makes me wonder if it really does take more time for QB's to develop, and makes me wonder how many busts would not have been busts given time.

Just thinkin

That's why they call it the NFL - Not For Long

Makes ME wonder how much sooner he would've played like a badass if he didn't suffer through 2 of the worst Head Coaches in NFL history, multiple shoulder injuries, and a new Offensive Coordinator literally every single year of his career until now.

What do you all think the chances of a Manning/Manning Superbowl in New Orleans where they were raised is?

I could see it happening only if the Broncos get the Patriots in Denver. If they have to go to Foxborough I don't think Denver can get there. Really doesn't matter where the Giants play. They can win anywhere.

I was thinking about that just yesterday.

I think the Broncos could beat the Pats anywhere. It was a pretty competitive game in Foxborough even with Denver's RB fumbling and before Manning returned to Manning form. Would i bet my life's savings and pick the Broncos over the Pats in a game in New England? Probably not. But I could see the Broncos winning.

The problem with seeing Peyton in the Superbowl is the same reason why I don't think we'll see Tom Brady in the Superbowl.

Unlike the Pats and Broncos, this team has a dominate run game and a nasty d. Those come in handy come playoff time. Barring serious injury to key players, I don't think there is much question who the favorite in the AFC is.

Meanwhile, despite the Falcons being undefeated, does anyone really consider them the favorites in the NFC? If you were to pick any of the NFC favorites, I'm sure everyone would take the Giants, Niners, Bears, and Packers over the Falcons any day of the week.

I actually think it would be cool to see a Manning v Manning in the Superbowl. However, I think we'll end up seeing a Bears, Niners, Giants vs Texas Superbowl.
