What's new

NFL Thread 12-13

I was thinking about that just yesterday.

I think the Broncos could beat the Pats anywhere. It was a pretty competitive game in Foxborough even with Denver's RB fumbling and before Manning returned to Manning form. Would i bet my life's savings and pick the Broncos over the Pats in a game in New England? Probably not. But I could see the Broncos winning.

The problem with seeing Peyton in the Superbowl is the same reason why I don't think we'll see Tom Brady in the Superbowl.

Unlike the Pats and Broncos, this team has a dominate run game and a nasty d. Those come in handy come playoff time. Barring serious injury to key players, I don't think there is much question who the favorite in the AFC is.

Meanwhile, despite the Falcons being undefeated, does anyone really consider them the favorites in the NFC? If you were to pick any of the NFC favorites, I'm sure everyone would take the Giants, Niners, Bears, and Packers over the Falcons any day of the week.

I actually think it would be cool to see a Manning v Manning in the Superbowl. However, I think we'll end up seeing a Bears, Niners, Giants vs Texas Superbowl.

Not nearly the story line but if it was ATL Vs. HOU it would Matt Schuab vs his old team he was traded from and Matt Ryan, so instead of the Manning bowl it would be the Matt bowl.

What do you all think the chances of a Manning/Manning Superbowl in New Orleans where they were raised is?

There is only slightly more of a chance for that happening as there is for a Browns vs. Jets AFC Championship game.

Andrew Luck just broke Cam Newton's rookie record of total passing yards in a game.

Luck = Stud

slowly but steadily, Luck has justified his #1 draft choice. And I don't think he has taken near the toll on his body as other rookies which leads me to believe that he's going to have a very long and successful NFL career. Colts are set for another 10+ years. Unbelievable.

Carson Palmer gets a bigger free pass than anyone I've ever seen. Good thing some of you morons thought the Silver and Black trading a 1st and a 2nd for him was a good move last year.

Im'a need some proof of someone saying that was a good trade at the the time.

Carson Palmer had sucked for years before the trade went down. One of the worst trades of all time.

Find last season's NFL thread. Multiple people lauded the trade while I publicly ridiculed it. Palmer blows and has for years.

Hopefully neither. Injuries or not, I am beyond done with Reid and Vick likely isn't the answer. He should be cut right after the season, Reid (and MM) should be fired, and they should pursue a hot, young offensive coordinator to help develop Foles as their qb.

Vick has a cap hit of almost 17M next year and has been horrible this year. I would be shocked if he was back. Reid seems like he has lost the team. I'd be surprised if he were fired during the year, but not at the end of the year.
