What's new

NFL Thread 12-13

I watched about a quarter and a half of the Eagles' game last night before going to bed and I have to say this Eagles team may be the most entertaining I've ever seen...in a bad way. Holy cow, they showed the stats against Todd Bowles, our new D Coordinator, early on. After five games, opposing qb's had 12 td's and 0 interceptions, had completed 79% of their passes, and had a 146 quarterback rating. That's insanely unheard of. And then Cam proceeded to go up and down the field on them all night.

They are the dream team though

Thats hot.

Harbaugh just announced Kaepernick will start Sunday against the Rams. We won't be seeing Alex Smith take another snap for the 49ers.

What a bizarre story...

Reports are still coming in regarding a tragedy involving the Kansas City Chiefs, but here's what we know at this time. Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, at a house near the team's facility on Saturday morning. Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan, who is on scene, confirmed the name of the player after speaking with local police.
After the shooting, Belcher drove to a location near the team's main campus and took his own life. Per the Kansas City Star, members of the team's staff tried to stop Belcher from committing any other acts of violence before the player turned a gun on himself. The Chiefs' Arrowhead practice facility was evacuated and is currently on police lockdown.

False.

Bet ya $5 we do.

I agree - there is no book on tattoo boy. 49'ers are running plays on offense differently than they have all year. Opposing teams have to throw out the scouting reports and make the adjustments. Once they do we'll see if this guy is for real.

Thank you Kaepernick!

*snicker*

You should really be thanking Akers. It's time for Akers to go.

I still think Kaepernick is the right choice moving forward. Yes he made some mistakes today, but he also made some big plays. The refs blew the call on the bogus safety. It was clear on the replays that the ball made it past the line of scrimmage. It didn't help that Walker dropped a touchdown pass near the end of the 4th quarter. Oh well, at least it wasn't another tie. Next up the Dolphins come to San Francisco.

Who would you suggest as a replacement? Akers has been shaky lately (weird, because he was money all last season...) but I'm at a loss as to who would be available to come in and do a better job.

Wow. Sad.

Browns groundskeeper hanged himself at the facility the same day. Eric Eucker. He's the guy in the midde. Thoughts out to all surrounding both incidents.

Actually, I'll thank Harbaugh for his arrogance allowing that godawful option play to be run. That pitch made my day. I can't stand Harbaugh and any time one of his super-genius plays backfires, that's like Christmas morning.

As for the "bogus" safety, Kaepernick ran back into the endzone and threw the ball away. It was definitely intentionally grounding, but if you want to say it was bogus, I'll mention the "bogus" roughing the passer call that gave the 49ers a first down and prolonged the drive that took them down for Akers' first make.

Only one team in that division is unbeaten within the division. Too bad they can't beat anyone else.

Looking forward to watching my Broncos stomp the Raiders this Thursday night. Man I want to see them run up the score and just humiliate the Raiders. I want to see a 52-3 victory.

Bogus safety?

This is what makes you unbearable.
