Nikola Mirotic

Mirotic would be a great fit next to Rudy and Mitchell. I think the long term answer is stretch floor with Rudy. not sure we have anything to get him with though. Our expendable players (non Rudy and Mitchell players) aren't exactly bursting with value.

The two most interesting quotes in that article are:

"The Bulls are still planning to trade forward Nikola Mirotic, which can't happen until Jan. 15 or without his permission, based on his contract. Mirotic has been intrigued with the Utah Jazz, whose coach, Quin Snyder, has a reputation for maximizing offensive talent."

And:

"There are far more teams chasing wing players -- shooting guards/small forwards -- than quality talent available at those positions. Drafts have been lean on those spots in recent years, and they're in great demand now...... Teams are targeting the availability of Brooklyn's DeMarre Carroll, Utah's Alec Burks, Orlando's Evan Fournier and Atlanta's Kent Bazemore, among others."

Wow, that is actually huge news coming from Woj.

One thing to remember on him... he paints a really positive light for his guys... and DL and Quin are his guys. Have appeared on the pod... Woj speaks highly of the Jazz.

He's a reliable resource for sure and I think it says we have some interest, but I don't know that teams are targeting AB like he says. I am glad we are in Woj's good graces.

BTW I saw him at summer league... I knew he was kind of nerdy looking but he is just a short average dude. His hustle is inspiring to me. He has become such a huge deal with smart hard work.

The Lakers stuff was interesting too. I don't think the league will allow them to extend and stretch Deng like some theorized they could... I think they will have to attach major draft assets to do it now, but if they wait until after this year's draft they could then trade their 2019 and 2021 picks to get it done. Right now they could offer 2020 and 2022, but I'm not sure that would get it done. If they know Lebron is coming with another FA then I think they will pony up the picks to unload Deng.

Beat me to it. I think AB and a pick gets it done

Here you go:

Jazz get Mirotic
Pelicans get Burks
Chicago gets Cunningham (expiring), Clark (expiring), Ajinca ($5 million next year), the Pelicans' 2018 1st and Utah's 2018 2nd

Jazz get our stretch 4
Pelicans get their wing and dump Ajinca
Chicago gets a 1st, a 2nd and only have $5 million on the books for next year (Ajinca)

Why wouldn't the league allow them to stretch Deng? If that provision is part of the CBA, then they can do it.
And that's certainly good news about AB and Mirotic. Give Chicago AB or expirings and a 2nd. Chicago will want more, but Utah can stand firm. Bulls have to deal him.

**** it, I can't.

Why in the hell would the Pelicans spend a first round pick to dump a guy who is only owed 5 million dollars next year? Just to get Burks? (who is a worse contract than Ajinca).

Lopo how does your brain work?

Go get Niko, go get Hill, get Gobert back, sticky the playoff thread.

Read the ****ing article Cy from Woj: New Orleans is limited in its tradable assets. No one is taking the moribund contracts of Omer Asikand Alexis Ajinca without the Pelicans including a first-round draft pick -- if not more -- in the deal.

And the article clearly says:

Detroit, New Orleans, New York and Portland are a few of the teams most interested in upgrades, but the true list is much longer.

So if you can read, the article says New Orleans is looking for a wing AND would have to use a 1st to dump Ajinca. They get both in the same deal. Chicago gets their first for Mirotic.

lmfao

So they are going to use a first round pick to get ALEC BURKS?

You should really just give up on making fake trades.
