What's new

No Plan? No High School Diploma!

I really don't get the problem with this line of thinking. If you want to take all the men and women sign designations off so they are just bathrooms I don't care at all so it's not what people seem to think it's about.

With this line of thinking you also have to let men into the WNBA if they say they identify as a woman so where is the outcry for that?

Wow you guys sure do know how to blow things out of proportion. There are certain things you are and certain things you're not. Apparently if I identify as a team owner for the jazz they owe me a suite to watch the games and if I identify as a billionaire you should all give me your money until I am one.

There's a huge difference between civil rights and saying you are something that can be genetically proven you're not.

Those things are not equivalent with being transgender at all.

And as jazzgal mentions, a transgender female using the male restroom is putting them self in a dangerous situation. Same with a trangender male, probably would have the police called on them for using the female restroom.

Look up how frequent it is for transgender people to be assaulted and murdered. Is that just one more way they should accomodate the majority? To be their murder victims?

You're acting like transgender people are just trying to pull a fast one.

All I'm trying to say is if people feel there is a need for a designation of something being used by certain individuals than that's who it should be used by. If not then take the designation away all together

Would you not see a problem with someone who looks, acts, thinks, and dresses like a man (but has a vagina) using the women's bathroom? I bet most women would. They would probably freak out and call the cops.

Also in this example you're saying that they would call the cops because they think a man is in the women's bathroom while the whole issue is people want men allowed in there

Another comment where you indicate that you think being transgender is just some kind of act.

Look I'm not against rights, I don't hate any certain type of people but I do think this whole thing is stupid. If people did something as simple as change the issue from allowing transgender to use whatever bathroom to removing designation from bathrooms all together I would have no problem with it.

Again I just think it's saying that people who aren't something should be allowed in what is designated for others because they are more comfortable in there

At no point have I called any of it an act nor was that comment even a hint of that.

I'll tell you what, I'll just do you all a favor and stay out of the general discussion room since you guys seem to like to label people a bigot for disagreeing with you.

I didn't call you a bigot. But you have been essentially invalidating the entire premise of people being transgender.

This was an issue at a place I worked. We had a gentleman who was transitioning to be a woman. As part of this he petitioned to be allowed to use the ladies room. He was about 6'3", built like a lumberjack, had a full beard, and dressed like every other guy there. But he said he felt more comfortable using the ladies room since he was in pre-op (taking hormones, going to classes, etc.). Needless to say we had a full on row over the whole thing. I let HR deal with it mostly. In the end we provided access to what was basically a single handicapped bathroom in the main offices for his/her use. It didn't make him/her happy but we had a contingent of women come to HR to complain and had to find a solution of some sort.

Damn, that's a tough one. I think that person should have been using the men's room.
