No talk about Boozer / Lee

Could be possible. Lee could start at C and Millsap starts at PF. If Okur is out for whole season this makes sense.

Not a fan of that lineup for the most part. Lee really isn't a center. How much I like or dislike this would fully depend on how much and how long Lee's contract would be.

First thread I've ever started here. Sure I'm missing something ...

Well, if you are going to say something like, 'No talk about Boozer / Lee, or did I miss it?' without a link or talking about what the hell you are talking about... it could confuse people on what you are really saying

It was kind of mere chance that I had looked at that tweet about 30 seconds before I saw this thread.

Good point. My bad.
Maybe could have said that the first time rather than unleashing the cat and crown?

Ford was one of the few predicting Utah might take Hayward, he earned some credibility back with me for that. Not one person on this forum called him over Babbitt that except Honz.
I dont like Lee at center, but at least this is getting some decent value back for Boozer. Lee has talent and is the main reason the Jazz ended up with the 9th pick instead of a top 3.

That definitely is the positive part about the potential trade. It's probably the best value the Jazz could get from an S&T with Boozer.

Thank you, but several people liked Hayward over Babbitt...mostly people who hate big softies that shot a bunch of jumpers against weak competition.

Lee is going to want too much. He started out asking for $12M last season. Sign him for that (or more) and Millsap is going to be one unhappy camper.

Lee could play center. He certainly did in NY, although I think he prefers PF. If AK leaves after the season and/or gets traded, Lee could slide right in and play the backup mins behind Millsap.

I just don't see how this deal gets done, though. Sign Lee and the Jazz would be over the tax threshold by that amount (provided the Jazz also bring back Matthews and Fes). I don't think Greg wants to effectively pay $20-$25M for Lee (salary and tax penalty). Can the Jazz dump AK before the deadline? I can just see it now: no deal materializes for AK, so Greg tells KOC to do a Harpring-like dump...Jazz trade AK, Hayward, and the Memphis pick at the deadline to whichever team has enough cap space to absorb AK's contract.

Sincere question. How does Lee come in as a backup to Milsap when his production (pts and rbd) is very close to dbl?

hmmm...
Lee is essentially a tougher Carlos Boozer without the jumpshot.
I think Millsap can be more of an effective scorer given starter minutes.

Lee at the 5? ....
Dude had a 0.5 block per game last season... Boozer had a 0.5 block average...

He's just going to be another defensive liability.

Coming from a Knicks forum "With Carlos Boozer and Amare Stoudemire, Lee completes the free-agent triumvirate of scoring power forwards who can't play defense. However, Lee distinguishes himself from Boozer and Stoudemire with his will to improve his game and all-out effort that enamored the New York Knicks' fans."

I like Lee as a 'replacement' for boozer if he does leave. Where do you fit in Lee? Hmmm... I think he would have to play the 5, I doubt Millhouse would be happy having to wait longer for the starting 4 job.

Lee is better defensively than we give him credit for. No, he's not a shot blocker. But he will use his body to get in front of people. I watched a lot of Knicks games the last 2 months of the season (cheering for them to lose, of course). Lee gave 100% every game.

I'm not suggesting he comes in as Millsap's backup, PKM. What I was saying is he could start at the 5, then slide over to the 4 when Millsap goes out.

I just don't see Greg taking on that kind of salary, though. Not unless the Jazz can dump AK first.

Well, without Boozer, at say 10 M, Lee wouldn't definitely put the Jazz over the tax.
