NON-JAZZ NBA PLAYOFF thread

I have never thought it was a problem.
I wouldn’t know. I only had good seats once at a game against Orlando near the end of a season we tanked for Exum. This was the game Trey Burk hit a game winning shot that basically gave Orlando the 4th pick and Utah the 5th. After the game I got yelled at by some mom with her two kids in front of me because I had been rooting for a loss all game. Lol
I do wonder if a black athlete hearing and seeing a black fan yelling "you suck" with a mean look on their face feels different than a white fan yelling "you suck" with a mean look on their face.
The only problem is I’ve not seen many black people at the games I’ve gone too at least hard to pick out of a crowd.

I do wonder if the hate thing is due to us being the quintessential down trodden small market and Utah always being the red headed stepchild in the nba where no one ever wants to play. For example LBJ’s comments about how no one as kids ever paid attention to the Jazz or it’s best players like Stockton and Malone. Not condoning or making excuses for some of the bad fan behavior, just wish there was another reasoning behind our bad reputation.

did you guys see this ? I am sorry if it was mentioned somewhere before.... 3 Jazz fans banned as well?? WTF

I don’t know, but I would be curious how much underlying beliefs about an area impact this. For instance, if someone were to hear something said at MSG, is it easier to say “wow, there are racists here,” rather than “wow, they are racists here”? Same for Utah. The difference is subtle, but important.
Good point.

Lakers will more likely have the NBA 6th man on their side, especially in the WCF, where we would be forced to play 5 on 8. At least with the suns there is more likelihood of the series being officiated fairly.
Ya. I would rather face the suns.
Lakers look healthy to me too

LeBron is a very good point guard.
His court vision, decision making, and bbiq is phenomenal

Frankly I just want to see the Lakers go down and then get to feast on the tears of the fans at work. Can't stand the Lakers. I would be fine with the suns beating is if that is what happens because at least it isn't just the same damn ****ing teams winning again and again. **** anyone who already has their ring. Let someone else get one.

I am happiest of course to see the Jazz win, but I'm almost equally as happy to see anyone win who hasn't got a ring yet. Frankly as long as it isn't Brooklyn or the Lakers I will be very happy.

Could you imagine a Jazz-Bucks NBA Finals? I think the Adam Silver would have a conniption fit.

Of course, we're putting the cart before the horse with all this talk about who we'd rather face in the WCF. Frankly, let's just get through these next two rounds!

I hate watching Lebron play in that it feels like the refs are hyper aware of any play he is involved in. They don't always go his way, but it is a big difference. You never see him get an over the back or loose ball foul randomly, for instance, like he's Bojan Bogdonivich or Derek Favors.

Part of it is the way he isolates his defender and plays for the foul, part of it is his incessant whining and demonstrations on every call (which he will never get T'd up for,) but the final part is that the refs are never, ever going to let him fall into foul trouble of any kind, and he plays like he knows it. He wil get all of the 50/50 calls as well.

In the 90's people talked about the "Jordan Rules" But Jordan would foul out and get T'd up. He also didn't whine after every play, realizing he was already getting a good whistle. I even feel like sometimes the refs even get tired of Harden's crap, but time freezes whenever anything remotely controversial happens with Lebron, and you can see the ref considering other things than a purely basketball reaction. It really bugs. He gets to play differently than any other player.

I mean the TV contract pays the same no matter the matchup. State Farm may get a few less eyeballs, but they aren't getting a refund either.

If it's any team other than the Nets vs the Jazz, we win in 6.

If it's the Nets vs the Jazz we win in 7.
