Not Picking Knight: Mistake or No?

Looking back on the draft, we had an opportunity to take Brandon Knight, and pretty much everyone expected the Jazz to do so, even after their lottery victory happened. This year, we have been yearning for a better PG.

Now Knight is averaging 13/3/3 and he's only 20 years old. Enes is 19 and averaging a little under 5/5.

I suppose you want to build around a bigman and Kanter/Favors give us two great potentials, but I don't think we made the right move, personally.

- Craig

No mistake. He's averaging less than 4 assists per game (and I don't see that ever improving to good pg levels because of his inability to create and his frame) and his shooting is mediocre.

As one of the most hard-line Knight supporters (that I can remember), I can honestly say we made the right choice to go big man (even though I'm not 100% sold of Enes over Jonas).

We won't know for at least 2 more years if we made the right call or not. I was actually hoping for Williams in the draft but he went #2. I would have been happy with either Kanter or Knight, but honestly was leaning toward Knight at the time simply due to what our roster looked like back then with Jefferson, Millsap, Favors, and Memo inside, but just Harris under contract at the point.

God, now we are going to have uppity Kentuckians all over the place thinking they are as cool as the rest of us.

Worse, drunk uppity Kentuckians. Nothing worse than a chain-smoking, bourbon-burping, long-haired dude, dressed head-to-toe in UK gear, with his pinky in the air. Damn ..

lol - You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to PKM again.

Of the players that were picked after Kanter, I think Jonas has the best chance to be better than him. Having said that, Enes has no aroma of being a bust, and I don't think we'll regret the pick.

Exactly. Next year there will be thread like this one but instead of Knight we will be discussing Jonas. To answer OP question - I do not think Jazz made mistake for not drafting Knight at 3.

I think we made the right call.

On a side note, as I was walking home from the game I saw about half the pistons team on the side of the road near the gateway waiting for their bus to pick them up. They were all, including Monroe, throwing garbage at cars in the street, laughing, and seeming unfazed by the loss they just experienced.

However, knight was sitting behind them all looking sullen with headphones on. It could have been from other reasons, but He seemed to be the only one upset with the loss.

I still think he could become a true talent in this league, but he just isn't really a good fit here.
