Game Thread Nov 02, 2021 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Kings

Added to Calendar: 11-02-21

Refs took away 2 easy 3pt shots by the Kings. I'm not one to advocate for easy math in something as complicated and fluid as an NBA basketball game, but those were some pretty big takeaways and momentum shifters in the Jazz favor.

too bad kings didn't keep bogdon bogdonovic or else we could be seeing two B.Bogdonovic and two D.Mithchell on the floor together.

I would be sad if we lost after Hield shushed the crowd. Conley was so steady though.

Great games from Conley, Mitchell and Rudy.

Those three guys are a nice trio. I'm not sure how much confidence I have in everyone else right now though.

Man, if we get a fresh Rudy Gay we are going to be unstoppable. The Whiteside addition, alone could take us to the promise land.
True, and what about the impact on Rudy of the Whiteside acquisition? Check his rebounds and blocks this year - Whiteside is pushing him!

Can’t wait for RG to hit the floor to provide scoring relief when Clarkson and others can’t throw a rock in the ocean.

I found this on YouTube. Whiteside already the fan favorite. Great to see him and Don interacting with the fans.

I do like that we’re 6-1, have played like ****, nobody besides Conley and Ingles can hit a three, we don’t have Gay yet, Donovan just played his first good game, and we’ve withstood whatever TF has happened to Clarkson.

Clarkson made a 3 in 99 straight games then doesn’t hit one in the last 2 games. Can’t make that kind of stuff up. He’s 0-17 from 3 the last two games. Struggling hard.
Yeah he’s a little prone to trying too hard when he’s out of sync IMO. A bit of a streak shooter but still contributes with defensive hustle even when he’s slumping.
Still, I wouldn’t mind seeing a little more Butler when Clarkson can’t throw it in the ocean like that.

- Would have been interesting if we hit some of those wide open beautiful 3pt shots in the first quarter. The offense was running beautifully, and we probably should have been up by a lot more.
- Seemed like our energy was lacking a little. My guess is our schedule catches up to us with a bad loss in our upcoming road trip.
- Most of Clarkson's misses looked really bad. He's usually so good at blocking out the misses, but he looks like he's struggling mentally.

All teams are playing hard for the first month or two of the season. To be 6-1 is good, however, our best win of the season is probably at Sacramento. We've avoided any bad losses, but still don't have any great wins yet, IMO.

I think we need to be more balanced. Teams are ignoring our bigs inside and working to run us off the 3 pt line. Whiteside seems to be figuring this out a little more than gobert. I wish our guards tried driving or throwing it inside. To me we feel stagnant a little too predictable.
