What's new

Game Thread Nov 13, 2021 03:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Heat

It’s okay guis they’ve been sleeping in a different bed every night. Just wait until they sleep in their own beds.

Don't worry, I'm sure we will play a terrible team soon and we can go back to pretending that our defensive issues do not actually exist.

These fans are so hard up they'll go crazy at any sign of life. We need to bring in Butler and let him lead our comeback.

Anyone notice that lately no one is shying away from challenging the paint? Rudy seems to no longer be invoking fear. They are going straight at him and scoring repeatedly. Of course a big part is that no one can stay in front of anyone, so you get 3 guys crashing the paint at all times so gobert has bad choices to make. But our interior D is going the way of our perimeter D. Bad.

Right now we look defeated. What's it going to take to right the ship?

Holy ****, I understand now why Quin never made scheme changes but just tweaked around matchups and only adjusted within the scheme. These guys don't know what a defensive rotation is.

A trade of the magnitude of Hornacek?

The Jazz will beat up on some bad teams who don't have the talent to exploit our weaknesses, then we pretend that nothing bad every happened and if it's ever brought up call that person a hater.

This currently looks like a team that is uninspired and outcoached. Not really sure if the O or D is worse, both awful

Having two rim protectors on the floor would be a good start. Like Giannis + Lopez, Lebron + AD, PJ Tucker + Capela, Draymond + KD, Ibaka+ Kawhi. Whenever opponents find a way to bypass Rudy, they are basically shown a free lane to the basket. We need that extra rim defender to cover behind Rudy.

So there’s this contingent of the fan base that’s a “just wait,” anticipating that we’ll catch up with money ball, that the odds will balance as if the chances are a roll of the dice, and not that the efforts give rise to the odds. We play this game by saying that the schedule is rough and that we need to do nothing other than passively observe as things change with more favorable circumstances. But our team is exactly like that contingent of the fan base. We’re passively waiting for things to just magically get better.

From number 1 in the NBA power rankings a little over a week ago to this is difficult to believe.

That moment when you realize you were doing the math wrong and thought we were only down 15.

Clarkson could score 30 and give up 30 to the guys he’s guarding—completely loses track of his man on the regular
