The Blazers can only offer their bi-annual exception at this point. It is an interesting rumor - that the Blazers wanted us to vastly overpay for Matthews, making a match for Fes unlikely. That could be true. Portland does need some size inside. And they have a gazillion guards.
I say ink the big rah-tard to a one year deal, worth around the veterans minimum, with a team option for a second. If he doesn't like that, then have fun in Europe.
If this is so true why is he playing for his national team this summer, just trying to quailify for the European Championships in the future? Not saying he is the hardest working person in the world, but the guy still has a lot of upside.
Money. If he doesn't play even NBA teams who don't want their players to play necessarily would question his commitment to anything. Fes is a big goof who only cares about the dollar signs oh and "love loven the interwebs."
When was the last time Oden played more than a handful of games? Pryzbilla ceased being relevant a couple of seasons ago and suffered a ruptured patella tendon back in March. No telling if/when he'll be back. Fes may have been an option to play 10-15 mins behind Oden/Camby with Camby also getting minutes at the 4 behind Aldridge.
