What's new

now that trey burke has settled in jazz offense sucks once AGAIN!

so i remember the first games trey burke jazz offense was a beauty to watch.
now that burke is familiar with corbins crapfense.
he just stands around doing nothing in the corner.
I see no offensive system anymore.

or was bruke running on adrenaline and anticipation those first few games?
i say throw corbins offensive system out the window and go rouge.

I'd just say that the Jazz won 3 games. Other teams started to watch tape and prepare for Burke to take away his strengths. And now we're here...

That isn't the case. Burke isn't as effective because he doesn't touch the ball as much. Corbin offense is run through Hayward and Burks almost as much as it is Burke. Corbin is running significantly less PNR plays and he's playing Trey off ball much more often. Tyrone is either trying to lose on purpose or he's a awful awful coach. Either way Trey's lessen impact is based on his lack of usage.

Watched last nights first half. He didn't exactly do too much to justify running pick and rolls all the time.

I think this might be overlooking the fact that Favors was out. We got killed by their bigs last night. Beans showed a little life, but he can't match even mediocre talent right now. Evans was game, but he's a bench player, not an NBA starter. If we even had Marvin back I'd say we'd have won last night.

I think Trey misses Favors on offense. Kanter is a pick 'n pop player because he doesn't know how to roll. I don't understand why Ty has Hayward try and create on offense so much. It's just a missed shot or turn over waiting to happen.

I've watch this team ever since Trey came back. The team is less effective when Gordon, Enes, and Alec are the primary decision maker/ball handlers.

The situation seems similar to Raul Neto in summer league (I know summer league means s***), when he played that one game without training and had a very good game, the next game he was running versions of the jazz offence and he didn't look as good. Is it just the flex offence is outdated and no longer effective in the NBA with the current players we have, as it is highly reliant on off ball movement; which is lacking in the NBA.

That's a good point. The flex needs bbiq. And the Jazz have players like Burks, Favors, Kanter who are sadly not the smartest players on the planet. I could add more of the current roster or the summer league roster but these are the long term guys who need easier plays. With Kanter I'm not sure, but his lack of passing and decision making is terrifying

Burke's BBall IQ was the biggest reason why I wanted my Pelicans to take him @6. I was spoiled watching Chris Paul incredibly high BBall IQ mask many of the team weaknesses for years. Utah has a lot of good individual talent a guy like Burke can tie all that talent together with his decision making. He did the very same thing at U of M. They had a bunch of NBA caliber role players. It was Trey's play that tied it all together and they were a awful foul call away from maybe winning a title.

Such a dumb thread. Favors and Marvin Williams have both been out. Without them winning a game will be almost impossible.

Jazz don't run flex anymore. It's dribble drive motion with some flex, 1-4, triangle etc. mixed in.
