Now that we're out of the playoff hunt...

I'd like to see Corbin ride out the season with his young players. At this point there's nothing to gain by playing Brick Harris and Statue Jefferson 30+ minutes a game.

I don't think we have a rookie pg that we can just slot in...

And seems like Favors is getting quality minutes... Kanter needs more practice over the Summer to really be ready for any more than 13-15 min. per.

I know that it felt like today's game was the season... But I don't think it was actually. The jazz are still mathematically eligible to make the playoffs and they have a darn favorable schedule. Porty sucks, Dallas is weak, and Howard is out for a while for Orlando. The teams ahead of us are either being destroyed tonight and/or have tougher schedules.

If the Jazz win out, they will make the playoffs. Simple as that. No more slip ups. which is obviously hard for this team but far VERY far from impossible due to the opponents really struggling right now. As I said, Dallas is weak, Porty sucks, and Orlando -Howard= worthless.

Yeah, the Jazz go 4-0, they're still in it. That being said, even though I want to have the 13th pick it would be painful to see these guys who've tried so hard to not get through. Especially Milsap, he puts it out there every night. Even though I criticize Al, he wants to do the right thing. It's just playing him for 40 minutes a night when he's out of gas isn't easy on him. I think that's on Corbin but Corbin's done a heckuva job as well.
Here's to hoping they go 4-0.

The good thing about that game was Al. He got his points where they counted the most. And Millsap was right there with him, but it just wasn't enough to get over the hump. CJ Miles wasn't in the game, but if he was, he would put up 11/3/1. That was the stuff we were missing. Our future lottery pick will put up 5/2 next year, and that should be all we need to get this ship going to getting the trophy for all of our players' trophy rooms, that would be so great.

Definitely not over. If we can get a tie with Denver for the 8th slot, we're in, as we got the tiebreaker. Not sure about Houston or Phoenix...

Jazz will have to win more games than phoenix since they have the tie-breaker and both have 31 wins now. Phoenix has 6 games left, 5 at home. Jazz have 5 games left 4 at home, one of which is against Phoenix. If Phoenix wins 3 of 6, Jazz have to go 4 of 5 to win the tie breaker. Phoenix does have a tough schedule though with SA, Den, LAC, OKC and Portland as the 5 home games.

Houston has 1 game on us, but we have the tie breaker, so we have to win one more game than them as well. They have 6 games left, but only 3 are at home though, and they have lost 3 in a row. They do, however, play NO twice and GS once(Hopefully this one is a loss somehow).

Keep in mind that we have to pass both of them, so the chance of both of them dropping enough games, and Utah winning enough is pretty low. Denver is 2 wins ahead so they will be even harder to catch, even though they have a tough schedule (they would have to end 2-4 with Jazz being 4-1).

I am hoping they all stay ahead and Milwaukee wins enough to pass. 12 sounds a lot better than 14 to me :) Heck, even Portland could pass us if they win both the games against us. (not saying I want the Jazz to try to lose though)

I will not be upset if Utah gets the 8th seed. I always like to see my team win. In my opinion however, that is the worst possible out come for the Jazz. That 2nd lottery pick (or 1st depending on GSW tanking abilities) or a higher seed are better scenarios. Losing 4-0 - 4-2 to the Spurs is not enough for me to want to give up that pick. The other scenario of a higher pick seems compeltely out of reach.

So I see it as a win-win-win.

I look at the remaining schedule and would like to think that the Jazz have a chance. But, then I remember some of our recent losses (most notably New Orleans) and I think otherwise. Our depth has won us a lot of games this year. Now that we don't have it, the weaknesses/inexperience that could be covered by pulling people when they played poorly are rising to the surface. We still have plenty of good performances each night, but too many bad ones.

I'm still hoping they sneak in because I think it would be a great thing for this young team. But, I'm really not counting on it at this point.
