What's new

Now this is a diet I can handle

I've lost 35 pounds since June by going to WeightWatchers and slowly increasing exercise. I do well with a diet of normal, healthy food and a little room for favorite snacks. Eat less, move more. It's not Pearlesque, but I'm very happy with my success so far.

You'd get the same results without spending the money on Weight Watchers if you just kept the same diet of normal, healthy food and exercise.

Some people need the extra help, moral support, etc. It's better to seek that out if it helps you lose the weight.

In my case it's oatmeal. I eat a 500-600 calorie breakfast, then have lunch and dinner as three cups of plain oatmeal, 300 calories each meal. It's not tasty, but it is filling as all get out. That still allows me a large supper.

I'm going to also add that cardio workouts really aren't that great for losing weight. If your goal is to lose weight you should really focus on muscle toning exercises. They're great for your heart and lungs though.

But I'll say I'm guilty of not living what I preach because I don't really watch what I eat, don't exercise, but my metabolism makes up for it and I'm still pretty light. I'm going to hate the day where that's not the case.

Twerp like that shouldn't rely on rubber bullets...

I realize that, but if I had self-control and willpower, I wouldn't be in this situation of needing to lose weight. I need to have a weekly weigh-in and to be accountable to someone - otherwise, I find it easy to say that "I'll start tomorrow." Plus I really enjoy the applause I get at the meetings for each success. The online tools really help keep track of what I'm doing and give me great ideas for recipes, exercise, motivation, etc.

This is well worth the money I'm spending.

Good. I'm glad you've found something that helps. I've never been to a Weight Watchers meeting, so I guess I didn't know what went on. I can see where the moral support you receive from others could be very helpful.
