OK, so KOC has now reached his 2-move limit. I know, I sound like KOCBegone.

Do you think he stops here, or are there other moves in the works?

Personally, I think KOC will explore some other options, but make no other trades. The only other item before starting camp will be the release of Bell. Jazz will start training camp with 11 guaranteed contracts + Carroll who is all but assured of a spot. Murphy makes 13 if he impresses. If not, there will be another camp invitee who will be retained.

Jefferson is kept until the deadline if/when Kanter shows he can play 25 mins and Favors proves he can be consistent and not get into foul trouble.

It doesn't make much sense to use up the MLE. We already have a logjam at the 4/5, a set rotation at PG and 3 good wings (+ Carroll who needs PT). Using the MLE gives us an emergency or specialty player, but ties up salary for next season, when we may be able to be players in the FA market with $20M+ available.

Could be that the best move with Jefferson is to just let his contract expire...IF we can't get a decent pick and a player we really want out of a deal. Taking back salaries might hamper KOC in pursuit of FA's next summer.

Jazz still have 2 first round picks next year they will need to find roster spots for.

I suspect Bell will be moved for a future 2nd round pick or be rolled into a sign and trade of CJ or Josh for a cheap young role player and a draft pick.

Well as of now there are 4 players under contract for 2013-14 with Marvin Williams now being a possibility, so I don't think that will be an issue.

Hell no, you cant let Al expire and then just let him walk. We better get something back for him, preferably some future firsts. I think that is the ideal situation. We should probably cash him out if we can without taking back salary. Then take another season to analyze where we are. That way we could take our assets at the end of this year and fix any weaknesses.

Al has to be a goner. None of this makes sense where we are headed with our bigs. Its either him, Kanter, or Paul. We cant realistcally expect to keep all 4 of our bigs. Thats just stupid. We need to deal at least one of them now, because its guaranteed they all wont be here in the future.

I voted that I think the Jazz will sign a FA with an exception, but I'm kind of second-guessing that already. It could depend on how well Murphy or someone else does in the summer league.

I think we're gonna wait to see how ready Kanter is for more minutes. If he shows he's ready for 20mpg, then I think we'll deal Al. I expect Al to be here till December.

I'd like Bell and Big Al to be on their way out. I think Bell never makes it to camp but I think for the most part KOC is done till the deadline. He will have a better view of how The Four look then and if they excell I expect Big Al or Millsap to be dealt around the deadline.

I voted for some other move. I can't explain because I am not sure what will happen. However, I do believe the Jazz aren't finished yet. When Pau (traded), Dwight (traded), and Hibbert get signed we will see what happens. Perhaps Al gets shipped but perhaps not. Something further will happen before the season. At least Bell will go somewhere.

It will be tough to deal him without taking something back. Perhaps if Indiana doesn't retain Hibbert and Al agrees to an extension. Indiana really doesn't have anyone we want, at least that they'd be willing to part with. At the deadline Al has two distinct value sets: 1) to a contender needing a better 5 (or depth). But a contender would have a late 1st and likely need to give back salaries (what contenders have cap space). Or 2) a team wanting his exoiring in order to rebuild. In this case, they'd definitely want to trade back players. KOC would need to evaluate whether the players coming back would be better than what he might get in FA by having the ability to offer more than the MLE, when other teams will be limited to their exceptions.

The only way I see us trading Al is if the Jazz are just awful next season and are out of the playoff race come the trade deadline.

What I really dont like about this we are chancing getting players fed up with not getting minutes.

How is Kanter going to feel about hardly ever playing?

And how does that make sense to have a 3rd overall not getting playing time for 2 years straight. Not to mention maybe Favors sits a lot.

I dont feel good about going into the season for those reasons

Evans will sign his option.
Millsap will receive an extension.
Raja Bell will be traded.
Not sure why ESPN Trade Checker, doesn't list Tinsley on the roster, but will him and no other moves (meaning no Evans) the roster is at 12.
Sign & trade AK47 for an exception and maybe a future pick.
Either Shan Foster or Kevin Murphy will make the roster (I think Murphy).

Go into camp. See how the young players are coming along in their development. See what opportunities arise. Teams are overpaying in free agency for middling players right now. Jazz have been smart to make moves around other teams' free-agent chases. Maybe another interesting player will come available. For example, players like OJ Mayo, Michael Beasley and Anthony Randolph are just sitting there. Maybe the Jazz can invite a player like that to camp.

These are good moves. Even if we want to trade Millsap, signing him to an extension isn't a bad idea.
