The people that I originally called idiots (not stupid, but good job at making **** up and/or not having your facts straight) were the people in this thread. Point out ONE SINGLE time that I've ever disparaged our veterans in any way, shape, or form -- please, I beg you.

You are boggled by their love of their country and it's symbol because you haven't put your life on the line and you take the freedoms you enjoy for granted.

Did you feel that thing go flying over your head just now? Ya, it was the point. Let me dumb this down for you, you simple minded fool: I am boggled by inane worship and blind loyalty to the flag. Getting up in arms over someone putting Obama's face on the flag, for example, is ludicrous. But go ahead, make something out of this that isn't really there. Put words into my mouth. Make it look like I called our Veterans Nazi's, or that I'm Anti-America -- people aren't stupid, and nobody buys your schtick.

Um, how exactly? Do you even read other peoples posts, or do you just quickly quote them and make **** up?

I will say that you do have two good points; I have never served for the US military in any form or fashion. If I'm being totally honest, I was too scared in my youth and I use my family as a convenient excuse now to not join. There will always be a part of me that is ashamed that I didn't serve my country like my grandparents did. I also DO take many and many of my freedoms for granted, and that is also something that I am not proud of and would like to change. If any of you are like me, show your support by giving a solid red rep to MillSlopper. Thanks.

First off, it's questionable that you've ever actually "thought" anything. Any form of "thinking" would require one to use their brain, and clearly, you don't. Secondly, you are a windbag.

You said all those things about Vets because Vets are the ones who are "getting up in arms over someone putting Obama's face on the flag." It ain't that hard to understand.

Seriously Trout? The flag is almost spiritual to those who have family that died protecting this nation, or the whims of its leaders. Sure I don't need a "small government" conservative creating legislation to outlaw this stuff, but at least I respect those tied to the flag closest when they get up in arms over these disrespectful gestures.

See, that's just it, frank. I support people that love their flag. There are three folded flags behind glass at my parents house, one for each of their parents who served. My grandfathers both served, and my grandmother was a nurse during WW2. I understand what the flag stands for and why it's important to some people. If it's spiritual to them, then that is fine, I have no beef with that. The only beef I have is when people or gov't try to shove it down our throats, i.e. The Pledge of Allegiance, or boo hooing about putting Obama's face on it. I've already stated that the Obama thing is absurdly stupid, and I don't agree with it, but to get up in arms like some people are doing is too much for me.

Just my opinion, man.
 
I get that. I couldn't tell if you were being serious is all.

I'll add to your rant with the "In God We Trust" thing being taken off the monies. The country thrived for 100+ years without it on our money, we made it through 150 without the Pledge of Allegiance, and even longer before "Under God" was added to the original version written by a socialist. God isn't going scorched earth on us for getting rid of either of these.

I haven't read this whole thread (got through page 1, though). Just throwing my name in the camp that Obama was way offbase and was very 2016'ish.
 
I like Gamefaces take on this and I absolutely agree with him. I think it is all disrespectful but it's not against any law and there should be no punishment.
 
Man, I tried to pos rep all of the money posts in this thread, but then realized they were all mine.

I like this new "must bump all of my old crappy threads just so I can troll harder" thing that Slopper has going on. It makes for some fond reading.
