Obama Government Shutdown?

Not Obama government shutdown, Soetoro government shutdown.

It's pretty obvious that Obama hates America and wants the government to be shut down to avenge his dad or grandpa who hated imperialists and capitalism.

Why didn't we elect a white true American Christian conservative? The constitution is hanging by a thread and we rejected the person who could have saved it. Are we regretting not voting for Romney yet?

NO

Probably we could all use a rhetorical upgrade, so say at least the 2.0 version that our founding fathers were expert at using.

Of course people addressing the problems of their times do have a chance to make things better, but what you are doing and saying here is a step back into sheer demagogery, not a step up.

You do realize that was the point, right? I'm not one who nails groups to the cross often; there's good reason to do so here. "First they came for..." and all.

<rhetorical critique>

"The Tea Party" is a vaguely defined entity with no official spokesman. Ron Paul may have been at least conceptually the beginning of it. Many democrats who reject some aspects of government deemed excessive or intrusive have come out for one idea or another that is rhetorically bagged and labeled as "Tea Party" by a disparaging mainstream media and some politicians who hold more favorable views to the present fashion and power of "government", but today the Republican mainstream has pretty much sidelined the "Tea Party" elements in their party, and are mostly in cahoots with the Dems on most of what our government is doing. . . . though most of their voter base clearly wants their party to do some push-back on things like Obamacare, and measures to curtail "excessive" spending. . . . hence the political posturing that is going on with the "government shutdown". It has got to last long enough that Republican voters will remember their representative or Senator "tried" to do "something". . . .

I just say there really is no meaningful "government shutdown", and nothing is actually going to be done. The media hype is all about controlling the rhetoric and posturing for the next election, and attempting to divert blame and actually to avoid taking any responsibility for the things people are unhappy about. . . . .

And, franklin, I know you're a smart guy who believes in monetary policy of a certain stripe. . .. and I know a lot of "tea party" folks are sorta lost in the woods and can't understand your actual ideas. . . . I just hate seeing you lump them all together with, say, communist or western-manipulated political activists who are working the Islamic community with inflammatory rhetoric.

"Tea Party" folks who do indeed want to restore more direct influence upon our government by actual citizens are talking about essential human liberties like freedom of speech, belief, religion, and economic choice. . . . in direct reaction to progressive encroachments upon our rights. . . . but, alas, many are still idiots, sorry to say.

A) Boehner's bowing to the TP for two straight years by manufacturing crises after crises is blatant proof that you're wrong. Speaking of, I'm surprised you're not more concerned with a small group of congress conspiring to sway economic outcomes. I suppose it's okay when it's apparent and comes from a base you support but not okay when it's an invented idea from the same paranoid base?

B) Sounds like the moderating checks and balances are working exactly as the founding fathers envisioned. Why should I get upset about congress meeting in the middle with common consensus when that's exactly what I want?

C) You never responded to my invitation, dick.

I sure hope the shutdown is over soon. I don't think I can take any more of this. Since the government shutdown things have gotten a little bit too rough. I should have built a bunker damn it! I guess it will be another night of sitting on the porch with a shotgun keeping an eye out for zombies. If this goes on for just one more day I think I might die of a panic attack.

That's idiotic. They've also shut down their web pages too. Well not really shut them down, but just giving people who go to them a link saying "because of the shut down all national park websites are shut down" or something like that. Just stupid.

It's blackmail.

Satire, to be effective, has to be on the side of truth. . . .

It's pretty obvious that David Rockefeller resents the quaint beliefs of people who think they have rights established by the Magna Carta, and raised to slightly higher level by the U.S. Constitution, and that's why he likes Barry Soetoro, the little rebel who loves the ideological Marxist puppet of the inside circles of feudalist Europe, which was designed purposefully to counter the ideals of "American Liberty" with a "manageable mob" of idiots who while spewing populist slogans can be manipulated into establishing statist governments with practically unlimited power over their citizens.

Barry is the closest thing we've ever had to an actually insane President. The conflict raging within must be monumental. A marxist "community organizer" who does exactly what he's told by some old white multibillionaires.

I'm kind of getting a kick out of this kind of stuff. Is this for real?

I guess I have to go on a rep binge to be able to pay my respects to this.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to LogGrad98 again.

This is not a "government shutdown" at all. It's a bureaucratic campaign undertaken by paid public employees to specifically deny American people access to public places, in an attempt to direct public ire against a specific political faction. . .

Public Employess who, while on the public payroll, engaging in these activities are pointedly working for a political party/agenda. . . . actually proscribed by public law. People on the Federal payroll working on a campaign for the DNP as instructed by their bosses all the way up to Obama.

Let's see, this is a public highway, right? It's not "inside the gate" of the public park. My version of a shutdown would be to send the park rangers home. . . . . not block the roads. So do you think we'll have our Interstate Highways closed next?

There was a protest yesterday at Zion national park. They called it Occupy Zion and scaled the gate and entered the park anyways.

I sure am glad that the U.S. Postal Service is not a part of the government anymore. It would really be tragic not to receive all that junk mail on a daily basis.

It's blackmail.

that's racist...

I like the idea of firing the entire legislature. If this were a real possibility it would spur some serious change. The problem is they would have to vote on it in the legislature and it is highly doubtful any of them are giving up their high-paying benefits-laden no-accountability jobs anytime soon.

Here is an interesting look at Obamacare:
