No need to be a dick. Geez!

I hope this whole thread is a parody.. Obama will undoubtedly go down as a top 5 worst ever. Only negated by the fact he shouldn't have ever become anyway..
This is what honestly confuses me and in a big way the reason I started the thread. The idea that he's is an exceptionally bad president. I was talking to my son the other day and I didn't know how to explain the degree to which many people dislike Obama and what criteria they use to deem him one of the worst presidents ever.
There's a loud obnoxious ignorant jack *** I work with who said to me, not for any sort of reason that I could figure out other than that I'm a veteran "I'm sorry, but I wouldn't serve in the military with him as my Commander-in-Chief." I just shrugged and said that if I was thinking about serving in the military the president would be one of my smallest concerns. But afterwards I thought to myself, this guy thinks Bush was the right kind of guy to be president if you want to serve in the military. The guy who puts soldiers in combat situations overseas and ultimately costs thousands of soldiers their lives and limbs and tears military families apart. I personally would be much happier serving in the military under a president like Obama, and it's not even close.
interesting read...
(didn't actually read this, but I heard him interviewed on the radio)

I didn't care for his first term, but I thought he did a decent job in his second. U.S. government is largely broken, however, and it is difficult for any politician to be "great". Limit the number of times senators and congresspeople can run, and things will instantly start improving.
It's all about the economy. Clinton happened to be pres during a huge boom = high approval rating. Ignoring the fact that he and Congress set the stage for the collapse 10 years later cuz at the time fat cats! Things collapse when Bush is in office = terrible president. Things start to right themselves while Obama is in office = best president in 100 years. When the reality of it all is the economy mostly did what it did regardless of, and often in spite of, presidential policies at the time. Americans are stupid.
Obama is in the pocket of the bankers and Israel. Almost no mind of his own.

I think Obama has done a reasonable job on many domestic issues.
But I a not a fan of his foreign policies at all. He routinely leave our allies out to dry in the face of their enemies. Now talking to the "enemy" is certainly better than ignoring what they say but what has he accomplished foreign policy wise?
Seriously?
Killing Osama, you know, that guy behind 9/11 wasn't good enough for you?
Seriously? Are you not entertained?
Oh, and then that whole like not starting WWIII with Russia? Oh and peace with Iran. And now opening things up with our Central and South American neighbors.
Personally, I think a quiet foreign policy demonstrates how great his foreign policy has been. Wars may grab headlines but they typically demonstrate a failure of foreign policy. Shock and Awe wasn't a demonstration of Bush's strengths but weaknesses in foreign policy. War should always be the last, not first resort.
Btw, which allies are you talking about? I haven't seen France or Germany complain about our foreign policy. The Israeli joke is the Cheney/Bush of Israel. He's a nutjob.
So his greatest accomplishment is that he hasn't gone to war with another country? That's a horribly low bar.
He has solved nothing with Russia. In fact our relations with them are the worse they have been since the Cold War. Pick your topic.
Iran? What has he solved? Nothing. They are still threatening their neighbors and supporting terrorism. They are still doing nuclear work.
Syria
Iraq
Iran
Yemen
Libya
Ukraine
Israel
Japan
China
France
All those relationships are worse. Some dramatically so. If you have not seen France and Germany complain then you're not listening. France is criticizing the Iran talks. Germany the NATO/Russian problem.
If this is great foreign policy the. We are doomed.
Iran supports Hezbollah and Shia militias tru out the Middle East. ISIS is not the sole terrorist group.
I mentioned France and Germany becuSe you asked if the had problems with American foreign policy. I'm sorry you don't like the truthful answer that they do.
Personally I'd settle for improved relations and solving problems. Not dragging them out as they slowly he worse and worse.
Stop deflecting to Bush jesus. Broken record much? But if it appeases your liberal sensibilities then Bush made horrible decisions with the patriot act and Iraq.
As for Russia they are forging stronger wconomic ties with multiple nations. A rival world wide faction is being born. Members include Russia, Belarus, China, Mongolia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Cuba, N Korea, Ecuador, Argentina, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cambodia, the "stans"...
God I'm putting you back on ignore. Forum so much more enjoyable that way.
You have no damn clue what I thought years ago
Since you seem incapable for actually debating something with out trying to bring up things that you assume to be true (when in true you don't have a damn clue) Im not wasting my time.
It's not all about the economy.
Bush's foreign policy sucked *** too. Not to mention countless scandals (ENRON, advanced interrogation, releasing Valerie Plane's name...) and just awful legislation (Pat Act, Medicare part D, No Child Left Behind).
Bush earned that title of worst President since Hoover.
With Clinton? The worst thing most from the right could come up with for nearly 2 decades was getting blown by an intern. That speaks volumes about how good he was. Although in this post 08 world I think caving to the right's demands in deregulating our financial sector was one terrible move.
