Obligatory Jimmer Freddette is available thread...

I agree with a lot of what you had to say. I agree in the right system Jimmer can be a JJ type role player. I would have paid him the minimum to be our 3rd point guard over Lucas.
I don't agree that somehow after Jimmer left all the byu basketball fans just disappeared. I would guess that 90% of the in state/non student BYU basketball fans are also utah jazz fans. Some being avid all the way down to casual fans.

A lot less Utah-based BYU students than there used to be. Being FROM Utah makes it much harder to get into BYU. I suspect that there are as many Laker fans at BYU as there are Jazz fans. A lot of BYU students stay in Utah after they graduate because it is where they have made their professional connections. They keep the team they grew up with. I'm not sure the 90% number you estimate is true nowadays. . .

I was referring to everyone in Utah who default as both a jazz and cougar fan. I also know a ton of people in southeast Idaho and up into Boise that are strong jazz and cougar fans. How many on this board are completely neutral on the cougar ute rivalry is probably the better question? I'd guess there are few that wouldn't take one side over the other

Jimmer must be the luckiest guy in the NBA. NO has noone in their roster as a shooter to escape their lives when needed and he can be that guy coming off the bench. By getting Asik, they've got Asik-AD duo, so probably NO is gonna play with 3 guard rotation without a SF. He can provide the spacing and have a good chance out there.
