Occupy Wall Street

Isn't it a bit of a leap to conclude that these people don't work? Obviously, while they're at the protests they're not working, but participating in demonstrations doesn't preclude someone from working at some point in their life.

A lot of people have a lot of good reasons to be upset, and I think it's perfectly reasonable to be disenchanted with the American political process and federal government (note: I live in Canada, and am not participating in any way in these demonstrations). If you've lost all faith in the political process, and see it as being "owned" by "Wall Street", wouldn't it make perfect sense to go up the ladder and demand changes from those who are really in charge?

So when tea party peeps protest, it's called Patriotism.

When they bring guns to town hall meetings and shout down elected officials, preventing them from answering the question made, it's called defining freedom of speech.

But when another group protests Wall Street, they're called lazy bums.

Ummm...Folks, it's time to turn off the radio and fox news. Stop with your double standards. Either these groups are exercising their rights and are protesting against what they feel like is something destroying America, or not.

I honestly, cannot see how anyone that has paid attention to the past 3 years, wouldn't support a protest against Wall Street, corporate greed, and bought off government. "Corporations are People" attitude needs to stop (even though radio keeps promoting this idea).

Machiavelli all over again.

If you want to take down an annoyingly independent king over the hill in the next valley/kingdom, you hire a few agitators, divide them up into two sides of some convenient public issue, pay them a little now and promise a lot more later, and send them over to create a crisis, a real public situation. When the stupid independent king can't manage the mob, offer him some help. Real friendly like. Conveniently, you've got the troops to take control. You send them over that hill and while the stupid kings smiles in gratitude and relief, you take over.

Now, you just don't leave.

There are several versions of this process, all well-worn in the twentieth century, all around the world. The marxist/communist playbook was overtly adapted from Machiavelli's principles. The British Empire was built on it. The American foreign policy used it as well. When are we going to leave Germany, Japan or Korea, let alone Iraq and Afghanistan? Obama has transferred incredible wealth into the hands of Goldman-Sachs and associates, the military-industrial complex has been humming along for a long while. . . . lots of slush out there, cash with strings. It apparently wasn't intended to just restart the economy and put folks to work with ordinary jobs. The biggest problem to taking full control of America happens to be "Constitutional" expectations in the public mind.

Thriller, your analysis is all wrong because you don't get to the root of it. The Tea Party "patriots" are just ordinary chumps with illusions that this is a constitutional republic, or should be. The "Occupy" mob is overtly against the American constitution, treating the "old order", constitution and all, as "the problem", and in their very label claiming superior authority. They are not the "99%" of us. Those articulate educated guys with the bullhorns who are doing the 24/7 in the park are on a payroll, probably earning more than a stockbroker account manager for what they are doing. Question is, who's paying.

Oh. . . . Obama the community organizer is at it again? Don't need 50.001% of the vote when you've got "99% of a mob".

Question is, who is Obama working for? And/or how is he being used?

So if a serial killer loves puppies, we should conclude that puppies are evil?

Puppies are evil. They suck you in with their cuteness so you'll take them home and then they pee and crap on the floor and worst of all grow up into an obnoxious dog.

I don't think anyone has argued that they are in the wrong simply for exercising their rights. Your post is about as coherent and relative as the Occupiers'.

Oh my.

Tea Party = Regular Chumps and lovers of America

Occupiers = Paid goons and anti-constitutionalists

Really?

thanks.

I'm not sure how I forgot the Nazis and Communists.

Perhaps because we all live in perfect harmony up here in Canada. :D
