Added to Calendar: 10-23-24

Need to see the young guys be more aggressive.

Hendricks / Cody / Sensabaugh = 9 FGA
Clarkson = 16 FGA

Ain't no reason he should putting up almost double the FGA as those three combined lol
That's because Clarkson can create his own shot, while Hendricks and Cody cannot.

There is a group of posters who want to bash him whenever they can. Its the same guys every time.

Seems to me like they dislike his brand of basketball too much to root for the guy. Its definitely poorly founded to constantly jump on a 20 year old who plays as well as Key and who also gets a lot of hype/trust from the coach and vast majority of fanbase and media.

But it is what it is.
Brand or not, last night was a pretty poor showing. He 100% helped the tank which I loved. Give me that brand for 1 solid year and turn the corner next season.

I still think Cody was the best perimeter defender someone else agreeing with you doesn’t change my opinion on that I had way not confidence in Cody than Taylor on the perimeter

Hendricks primarily defended Ja in the first half and smoked him on defense. Ja smoked Cody in the second half. Not sure what game you watched.

This game was one of the games where the Jazz could never catch up. It would have been interesting to see if they had grabbed the lead. But it was good for the Flagg sweepstakes so yay.

Also one thing that wasnt mentioned... I am happy Ja is back. He is just such an entertaining and special player to watch. The most entertaining player in the league imo.

I think he had like 10 mid-flight decisions in this game where he had just driven to the trees without knowing what to do, and somehow almost everything he did there worked. Some circus passes, tough shots and fouls drawn.
Agree with that. Ja is fantastic. Sad that his out of court attitude make him waste a lot of times. He should be a top 5 player already.

Great job! At the moment ESPN shows the Jazz in the standings in the play-in position (10th in the West) and as having the 11th worst record in the NBA (i.e. the Jazz pick goes to OKC). The Jazz simply do not know how to tank.

One game has been played.

OK, by now the Jazz advanced to the 12th pick position. They are still in the play-in range. Just a couple of more losses and Utah can ascend to the top-4 in the West.

I gave Kessler a lot of (justified) crap last season, but the fact remains that he's the only young player on this team who has an elite NBA skill (rim protection).

Think about that for a moment.

No, a player doesn't have to be "ready" at this point. But if you're going to be a building block, you need to have the type of raw talent that, when polished by experience and reps, can make you elite at least in one area. For instance, I don't see any of that in Keyonte, and he's the guy they're trying hard to push as the "face" of the team. He's either bad or mediocre at everything he does. Athleticism, shooting, ball handling, decision making, facilitating, defense, effort. So far, overall he looks like an NBA bench player, but has a ridiculously inflated role and usage on this team for obvious reasons.

I repeat: he doesn't have to be ready. But the trouble is that from day one, he's looked like he probably just isn't talented enough for the type of role the Jazz seem to have in mind for him in the long run. They're squinting hard.
