What's new

Game Thread Oct 26, 2022 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs Rockets

Added to Calendar: 10-26-22

I'm pretty sure we wreck these guys tonight, but if we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory I'm 100% cool.

Part of me hopes we continue to take the league by storm and win out and get into the playoffs as a ragtag team of misfits and make some noise when no one expected us to, plus the $50 I put on us getting into the playoffs would pay off huge. However, another part of me, probably a larger part, wants to see us finally get the top pick when we are damn near the only team to never have that in our franchise history, and it is about damn time we have our turn. And the prize for the former scenario is pride of accomplishment and a fun season to watch, and more uncertainty next season yet again as we continue with the rebuild but with late first-round picks instead of lottery picks. But the prize for the latter is a possible franchise player and a better shot at winning a ring. So I would lean toward the latter, but I will be fully happy to see something happen with the former.

However, my greatest fear is we hover somewhere in between and shoot ourselves in the foot by being too good to fail and simultaneously too bad to succeed, and we end up on the ****ing treadmill of mediocrity for several seasons. As long as we avoid that, on one end of the spectrum or the other, I will be satisfied.

I think its for the jazz best interests to lose tonight and going into the season i was going to be cheering jazz missed shots and opponents makes and root for losses.
But i got caught up and really want to win every game right now so go jazz!

If we start to flounder then i will go back to rooting for losses and will wish that we woukd have lost these early games but they gave looked so good that i have this silly belief that we are a playoff team and im here for that.

Gobert >> kessler/olynyk
Oneal < vanderbilt
Markanenn = bogey (maybe lauri is actually better all around)
Conley = conley
Donovan > clarkson

Jazz bench now vs jazz bench last year I dont know.

Hardy > quin.

Maybe we are a playoff team.

You final sentence is what i think ultimately happens.
It is the jazz way to **** things up that seem pretty easy and obvious.

I think the Jazz win this one. Last game, Lauri missed all his 3s and all his FTs. That's just fatigue. If he makes some shots, the Jazz should be fine. That said, if the Jazz lose somehow, I'll be fine with that too.

We win tonight... but its the last win we get until we beat the Lakers end of next week.
