They will undoubtedly trade him. He isnt staying in Indy (unless they do some impressive off-season work).
 
our biggest free agent acquisition this offseason may just be Alec Burks .....

There has been a ton of speculation. There are a few reasons he is upset:

1. NY seems to have no direction
2. They've lost 101 games the last two years
3. He considers Melo his mentor and Melo is going to be traded. Very, very likely.

I think NY is dumb enough to blow it up. They trade Porzingis and Melo, accumulate a ton of picks and clear out recent bad contracts. Here is an article that alludes to Phil noting he might consider trading KP. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wa...y-tweeting-then-deleting-post-about-clippers/

Then Boston is the perfect trading partner for NY. Bos can offer the Knicks this year's 1st round pick, which could very well be 1st overall. Throw in another late first and some pieces to make the trade work.


Knicks give up Porzingis and Carmelo.


Boston reloads with the hope of winning it all next year with:


Isaiah Thomas
Bradley
Carmelo
Porzingis
Horford


I think there is enough fire power there to launch a serious challenge at Cleveland.
 
No offense to the other guys, but I think the Chris Paul idea is a non-starter. I don't see him wanting to come here.

I think the places we can improve are at SF and PF. Rodney Hood or Joe Ingles just isn't a starter on a championship team. If Boris Diaw is your starting PF you aren't going to win a championship.
Maybe SF we look at JJ Reddick or Kyle Korver? They may not be upgrades in every category but I feel like they can shoot!

Milsap at the PF would be great as well. I just don't know how realistic that is.

Of course Boston has a better chance than us, but then again, I doubt they want Melo. And NY would not want to trade within the conference to a rival.

We dont have great picks, but we do have 3 first rounders we can trade this year and next (ours, GS 2017 and OKC 2018). Add in Lyles and Hood even Favors. Most importantly, we can take on bad contracts. Boston won't do that because they believe young free agents might come there. We can make a pretty decent offer for a guy with only one year left on his rookie deal.

Flip it, if you were the Knicks, would you give up Porzingis for 3 late firsts, Hood and Lyles?
 
Beverley signed four years/25M two summers ago. God why didn't we pursue him. Seriously though, why didn't we? He'd be perfect here right now.

If all of our free agents leave, would you entertain random teams' offers of some late first round picks and some role players for Gobert? No? Well what if they added a few more role players and second rounders to the deal?

Finding a solid 3rd scorer isn't coming from older veterans.Jazz saw that limitation play out against Golden State where they look slow,tired and past their primes.

I still believe the Jazz have their answers in their young guys but CAN Snyder coach them.Jazz are losing out to a athletic team while Jazz lose because they bought into older (limited) players while their younger players are learning nothing from the bench.They need to play.The younger players could have lost 4 straight to GS just like the older players but gained valuable experience in doing so for next years playoffs.

This summer CALL SNYDERS BLUFF OUT........trade Exum or get off the 21 year olds back.By all accounts Exum has done what Snyder asked of him and been in the doghouse almost all year.Sign Shelvin Mack 3/4 years and see if Mack leads the Jazz as SNYDER WANTS DONE .This ia a wasted playoffs for Exum and Lyles who have learned nothing watching Jazz get swept and probably seeing the Jazz players getting the minutes not even there for next years playoffs.

My take if Exum is around next year ,let Hill sign for more money elsewhere.He played great but the injuries have started with him. Open up the offense and play to Exum's strength as a PG.Trying to turn Exum AND Hood and Burks and Lyles into "3 pt chuckers"looks like Snyder can't coach.Making players play his style and not to the teams strengths.

My starting umit next year would be :

C) Gobert
PF)Lyles
SF)Hayward
SG) Hood
PG) Exum

As much as I appreciate Exum supporters, you thought Exum would be better than Hill and starting this year.

Here's the thing about all of your Exum complaining; Utah is already going to be in a bad spot financially. Having Exum blow up next year and then have to max him out would not be ideal. Ideal would be to bring him along slowly, and then have him make the big jump after signing him to a reasonable contract.

He's not ready for the starting role on a contending team, and Utah has some incentive to develop him slowly for one more year. In other words, I wouldn't hold my breath on Exum making some big jump next year.
