Official 2015 NBA Draft Thread

Lol dude melodramatic much?

Let Paul walk to develop Favors Favors developes trade him to have a shot at Paul in FA? It doesn't make sense and just isn't true. Why would Milsap even come back here over other options? He's an all star in the east. This is just BS I promise no one lose their panties over it. Does pour water on the validity of Jodys burke rumor tho if from the same source

Did you mean mellow-dramatic? Yea, some.

The Millsap thing is being reported by enough good reporters that I'm starting to believe despite so many reasons, including my own intel.

I'm no longer alone! "@975Hans: @Jody Genessy To be fair, I do like the Gobert/Millsap front court more than the Gobert/Favors front court."

Scott Garrard ‏@ScottyG1280
Not surprised at all by @DJJazzyJody last couple tweets. Things could get really interesting tonight

Millsap as the 3rd big is great. Moving Favors for ANY player in this draft is not so great. I have a hard time believing it tbh. The Jazz have a defense to be feared with Gobert and Favors patrolling the middle. Every rival team would breathe a huge sigh of relief if the Jazz were to trade either of them.

No thanks. Favors has All star potential and is a key part of this team's success. Trading him takes them backwards, not forwards.

Imagine if the proposed trade from last year had happened? Favors and Exum to Cleveland for Wiggins.

Cavs probably win the title with a real defensive presence at center to pair with Thompson. Plus, Favors is probably an All star in the East and his profile would have been raised because he was playing with LeBron. Exum would have gotten playing time while Irving was out with injuries and would have been the best defensive stopper by the end of the year. The Cavs would be set for now and the future, while the Jazz would be reeling.

While getting Wiggins would have been amazing, our core would have been Gobert, Kanter, Hayward, Wiggins and Burke with Burks as 6th man. Doubt they draft Hood if they have Wiggins. Not a bad team, but not a playoff team IMO. Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Hood and Exum with Burks as the 6th man IS a playoff caliber team. No sense in breaking that up before you've ever had a chance to take it for a test drive.

This could be the last time in a long while where we can get a "great" player. I would throw in Trey Burke, Alec Burks, #12, and GSW pick for #4 and pick Porz. #Pleasedon'ttradeFavors.

Joe Kotoch@Probballdraft
Pacers draft buzz is decision could come down to Cam Payne, Trey Lyles, and Stanley Johnson. #NBADraft

What? No Myles Turner? Do they expect him to be off the board at 11?

I don't know what it is about Favors, but they have tried to move him two summers in a row.

The Jazz team we thought we had could be gone and replaced in two weeks.

I don't think the Jazz are looking to trade Favors. I think the Jazz are looking to make moves and the other teams want Favors so that's what they look at. Jazz have not pulled the trigger and that Favors is still here says something I think.

Teams Feels Mario Hezonja's Camp Trying To Get Him To Pistons

Does Mario know what a dumpster fire Detroit is?

@Chris_Broussard
Latest NYK info from sources: if Okafor/Russell gone, Knicks like either Kristaps Porzingis, Frank Kaminsky or Trey Lyles. Mudiay hovering

Teams Feels Mario Hezonja's Camp Trying To Get Him To Pistons

Does Mario know what a dumpster fire Detroit is?

Marios' agent is Arn Tellem, who was just recently hired by the Pistons.

Hezonja’s agent is the powerful Arn Tellem, who was just recently hired to the Detroit Pistons’ front office.

“We would like a situation where Mario would get 25 minutes a game. What number he is picked doesn’t matter; our focus is where he can play and win,” Hezonja’s father, Ronald, told Bleacher Report.

Hezonja’s father broke down a few scenarios for B/R:

New York Knicks, No. 4: “New York would be fantastic under Phil Jackson, who is accomplished, and Derek Fisher, because he played with Kobe Bryant and knows what is required to win.”

Orlando Magic, No. 5: “Orlando are serious and could be a good landing spot with Scott Skiles as coach and Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton as rising stars.”

Denver Nuggets, No. 7: “Denver have been chasing Mario for the past two seasons and can take him as a wing. But we’re looking for the right environment.”

Detroit Pistons, No. 8: “Detroit would be great because Stan Van Gundy is a great coach.”

Tellem, who is now consulting for the Detroit Pistons, would also be hard-pressed to pass on his soon-to-be former client.

Some teams expressing frustration with lack of info coming from Hezonja's camp. Feel they are "trying to pull a Kobe, to get him to Detroit"

Jonathan Givony @DraftExpress
With that said, I don't really see a scenario where Hezonja falls to 8. Detroit will have to move up to get him. 4-5-6-7 all really like him

Buzz ahead of the Jazz pick:

Lakers may have decided on Okafor two weeks ago, but keep floating Russell's name to force PHilly to trade with them. Philly has the rights to a Miami pick, protected 1-10 next year and unprotected thereafter and they own about 13 2nd round picks including 5 this year.

After initial hype for Porzingas, teams have cooled on him. Especially those that had him in for workouts. (knicks LAL) seen as a project.

Meanwhile, the hype for Mario Herzona is picking up. He went scoreless yesterday in his last game in Europe.

Greg (Salt Lake City)
"Will the Jazz pick at #12 tonight or do you see them moving up (or down) to get the guy they want?"

Chad Ford (1:38 PM)
"They might move it. Especially if Stanley Johnson is off the board. I think they like Trey Lyles and Myles Turner. But I could see them move back ... and still get a guy like Lyles, Dekker or R.J. Hunter"

David Aldridge@daldridgetnt
Frank Kaminsky moving up draft boards in the final hours, per league sources, perhaps higher than nine, where Charlotte would like him.

Hearing Jazz have two targets tonight, hoping one is there at 12 but willing to trade up if not. Stanley Johnson and Justice Winslow.

Chad Ford also identified Stanley Johnson as the Jazz target. Locke was just on 1280 talking about the skills and warts of Stanley Johnson.

Boogie Cousins and Trey Burke are friends. If sacto wants to appease the big man....

Edit: More on Stanley..

Aran Smith@nbadraftnet
Charlotte targeting @Stanley Johnson Stanley Johnson at 9 or likely trade down

Rich Levine‏@rich_levine
Sullinger follows the Hornets and this is their next tweet? There are no coincidences.

Jared Sullinger to the Hornets?

Spence on 1280 Saying if Jazz miss on Johnson and Winslow they are trading back to 17 with Milwaukee.

I predicted this somewhere on these forums, the Bucks need a PR victory to get a new stadium funded. A trade up for Kaminsky or Decker would be a victory that far surpassed baksetball to the Bucks ownership.

#12 for #17 and Damien Inglis?

BOBBY PORTIS at #17.

Steal of the Draft!!!

Locke on 1280

Jazz needed WCS to go ahead of them and one or two of: Cameron Payne, Myles Turner, Sam Dekker or Kelly Oubre, but it doesn't look like any of them are going to now. None of those 4 or WCS is very high on Jazz board.

Jazz not willing to part with any of big three: Favors, Hayward, Gobert.

Locke loves Justice Winslow, could be multiple time all-star.

Myles Turner could be terrific, but he needs multiple things to come around or improve. No guarantee he fixes those things.

Locke thinks Jazz will be looking at Oubre or Booker at 12. Most likely Booker if Oubre goes to Miami.

Very few rumors with substance this year. Could be very quiet trade night.
