I think Sloan summed it up best when he said, "I'm not a young guy anymore and don't have the energy levels I used to have". Sloan use to have the energy to deal with the **** that a HC needs to deal with. I think he is just old and tired and realizes that it's not worth the hassle anymore. I don't think D-Will has been any worse than any other player on the Jazz has ever been or that Sloan has dealt with in the past. Sloan is just done and is smart enough to move on.

How is this being ridiculous? Sounds like DWill killed a legend and ended a legacy, guy. Just saying. I mean, I love DWill's game, but the dude has an attitude problem.

sounds like???? f-ing sounds like? are you serious? sounds like a 25 year old punk ran a 69 year old coach who has been with the organization for 23 years out??? continue perpetuating the lie, buddy.

I would say Deron strong armed Jerry out via his ****** play over the last two months.
In December he averaged 23 & 9 on .479 .380 .842 shooting.

In January he averaged 21 & 9.5 on .457 .352 .868 shooting.

Dude comes to play more nights than everyone else on the team. Y'all will be singing a different tune when the team is filled with players with Big Al's heart.

So what's the story, guy? Do you know? Sloan just decided to hang 'em up?

We know JSLoan resigned. I'm guessing there were a lot of reasons, but I'm not homer enough to think DWill is the Golden Child and did no wrong. Sounds to me like he had a lot to do with it.

He gave the reasons. did you not listen? no one is claiming dwill to be a golden child, but if malone/stock/etc didn't run sloan out, then how in the hell can you believe dwill had the ability to run him out?

Sounds like that based on what? According to everyone in the organization, Sloan was tired and it was probably an immensely frustrating game. If something blew up, the only report I've seen is that Sloan wanted Deron forced out, not the other way around. If things like that were said on either side, I think it was heat of the moment and that the writing was on the wall. Sloan is tired, his methods are tired. He was going to stop sooner than later.

There is nothing wrong with accepting things, hoping for the best, and moving on.

I offer my apologies. DWill or his attitude or his blame game had nothing to do with Jerry Sloan resigning. I don't know what I was thinking. Forgive me, guys.

See, that's reasonable. I think anyone could get into that.

We should be getting behind the team at a time like this. Sloan choose to step down, and it probably was because of chemistry issues with Deron and a few other players. But Deron did not strong arm him out.

Do you view everything on earth in such extremes? It was either ALL Deron's fault or NONE of his fault. Brilliant.

I say this in the least disparaging way possible, but thoughts like these are why you are a punchline here (good-natured or not).

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, hoping for the best is not allowed. I find it interesting that the most optimistic person in this thread is also an atheist. lol.

Seems to me that anyone blaming Deron for Jerry's departure is calling Jerry a liar.

I'll be Deron never disrespected Jerry enough to call him a liar.

Probably the most realistic and succinct post in this thread. I'd rep you if I could and will try to remember to later.

No. I just feel DWill had a lot to do with the resignation of a legend. I don't think it's all Deron's fault at all but, I do put blame on him.
