Hey Trout,

Are we on for our annual bet this year? Let me know by Saturday. Go ahead and post it on this board. If I don't hear from you, I'll take that as an admission of you being a gutless slug who knows that BYU sucks like a (*edited*) who (*edited*) and (*edited). It's your call, Councilman. I look forward to your response. Don't puss out.

Utah by 6.
Trout says he's in.

Coming from the guy that is just run-of-the-mill dishonest?

Look, it's not that big of a deal that you hate the Utes. But don't act like you can walk on water. That cage match stuff is great, though. Please more.
That stinging sensation in the side of your mouth is from the hook, Bud.:D

Who did better on Saturday Wynn or Heaps? Wynn

Who was the best receiver on Saturday? Christopher

Who was the best running back on Saturday? White

Idiot.

Its hard to compare teams playing different teams. With that said its still an argument who had a better game. White contributed 54 yards to the game off 21 touches. JJ contributed 63 yards off 17 touches. Both off pure rushing had the same averages per carry. I would not say White had a better game. I would also say that Texas was more concerned and focused on JJ than USC on White.

Heaps threw a couple picks so I guess you can give the edge to Wynn but Heaps did have a much higher completion percentage and if you factor in the sack yardage they contributed about the same amount of yardage to the game. Plus if you claim Utahs receivers are soo much better than BYU's than doesn't that mean Heaps has the much harder time completing passes since the receivers are not making plays on the ball and getting open? If you claim that Heaps sucks that is just ignorant. Is he an elite QB yet? No. But he is still good and almost all scouts and commentators think he will be great in college.

Defense is typically Utahs strength and BYU's weakness but so far BYU's defense has allowed 30 points against 2 BCS opponents(one of those was actually caused by offense so you could say 23). Utah against 1 BCS team and 1 non division 1 team has allowed 33 points (one was on special teams so technically 26 points). BYU's defense against Texas got their returning starter benched for probably the season. BYU has allowed 267 passing yards and 230 rushing yards for a total of 497. Utah has allowed 447 passing yards and 227 rushing yards for a total of 674 total yards allowed. I think BYU might have the better Defense this year.

I feel like this is a safe year to bet on BYU and they are starting to finally feel like the little brother now and have more to play for. I could be wrong but thats my bet. I am not unbiased since I slightly prefer BYU over Utah but neither are my team. The Ducks would destroy either team so...

BTW I would show up and watch any of these cage matches. Make it happen. That would take this fan board and rivalry to a new level.

-White had a rushing touchdown, JJ had no touchdowns. I think that easily tips the scale for him having a better game.

-Also Utah had two offensive touchdowns that game, BYU only had one.

-Its not completely fair to compare these games but its as close as it gets. Both very similar programs, both away games.

You won't see him post cause he's on "vacation" for 2 weeks. If you know what i mean.

I'm pretty sure I know what you mean. Trout saw the handwritting on the wall, and rather than face the humiliation of watching BYU go down in flames, he decided to go on vacation, right?

As a Ute fan, it's sad to admit and know that even if Heaps makes the Cougs lose-out for the rest of the year by his mistakes alone, he's still a million times better than Wynn.

It's like this.

Wynn = An old broken down Pinto
Heaps = A Camaro in need of a tune up.

Very good.

IMO the QB match up Heaps definitely has more upside/potential as he does have the stronger arm. The O-Line favors the Y as I think the U's line has looked pretty bad and even though the U normally is favored on D I was not impressed with the D-Line or LB's against USC, they did force TO's but if they hadn't they would've looked pretty bad.
Now saying that as a U fan I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the Y's defense hasn't faced a starting QB all year, Ol' miss played their 2nd and a little of their 3rd string QB (as well as 3 RB's got hurt but one came back) and Texas doesn't really have a starting QB not sure what they're doing for a QB there sounds kinda like they're doing a QB by committee.

Oh and YB that sign is pure awesome!

Line has gone from 6.5 to 3 and now back up to 4. Giving that the line 'typically' counts home field for 3 points is saying this game is virtually a toss up pick em game.

Not being a 'fan' of either but rooting for both I tend to root for Utah during this game. Have for year and won't change as I follow probably Utah closer than Utah (Probably due to the success they have had the past 10 or so years vs. BYU with Crowton, ect.).

This is how I see it plays out....

The game will be won or lost with Special Teams and Turnovers. Very bland answer but whatever team can get that 'easy' score off a turnover and great field position or points from a return will win. Both defensive strengths match up against he offense.

Close game and low scoring that goes to OT...

Prediction
Utah 23
BYU 20

One HUGE problem with comparing stats between the teams. One team has played BCS teams exclusively, and half of one's schedule to date has been Montana freaking St.

After this game, one team will still have played only one BCS team while the other will still have played BCS teams exclusively.

I don't get why it's so funny ESPN used "Roscoe" for Mendenhall's name. I mean, the guy's real name is Bronco, if anything, it made him look better.

So I need to get a summary of my bets...

I think I bet catratcho. How much are we betting? No line right, just winner takes it?

And what about Trout? Are we betting this year, and if so how much? Same terms as catratcho?

Tomorrow is the big day folks. I know smack talk is down this year. It's hard to be too geeked about this game when the Utes just played their first ever PAC 12 game (first PAC 12 game in history for anyone actually) at USC last week, and lost on the last play of the game. But it's still a pretty big game and I can't wait to watch it!
