Official Jazz workouts thread

The Jazz are trying to rank players and gauge their market value. A player doesn't have to workout with the Jazz to get drafted, especially if there is a significant amount of game tape and pre-existing scouting about the player.

When Lindsey was in SAS, they pulled the trigger on the George Hill for Kawai Leonard trade without ever having worked out Kawai, I', not sure they ever interviewed him.

I'm so excited for tomorrow's workouts! Mainly Dellavedova, Kazemi, Snell, Dieng and Franklin. Love all of those guys.

I remembered them interviewing him at the Combine if I'm not mistaken...

So Jazz at 14 & 21 have (or will) worked out atleast 32 draft prospects, some of them 2nd round picks, some of them were only work out buddies.

They have even work out McCollum and Zeller who are likely gone by 14, but they have not worked out Caldwell-Pope, MCW, or Shabazz who are more likely than McCollum or Zeller to be there at 14. Nor have they worked out Plumlee, Karsev, or Haraway Jr. who are all possibilities at 21. Anyone else they are missing out on workouts? Does it mean anything?
So there you have it, the top players the Jazz will have on their draft board at 14 and 21.

So there will be two sessions, so my first thought is who is working against/with who.

David Locke @Lockedonsports Jazz have set up workouts so Big men Gobert and Dieng go head to head in second session.

I'd pay to watch that. Snell & Franklin also an interesting match-up.

============================

Steve Luhm @sluhm Including the free-agent mini-camp, the Jazz will have looked at 64 players by the end of Saturday's pre-draft workouts.

David Locke @Lockedonsports Time will tell if the Jazz make the right decisions this draft. Very clear they will make informed decisions on June 27th.

I don't want to be accused of being too homerish, but I really appreciate what the Jazz are trying to do. Now lets hope that in all the workouts and interviews they were asking and looking for the right things.....
I agree. This is one of the most thorough pre-draft evaluations the Jazz have done. Could be due to simply having more boots on the ground (KOC AND Lindsey, plus Jerry helping out). Another factor is having two picks. And there are definitely extra roster spots available so they have to also look at guys that might go undrafted. Usually the time between the end of the season and the draft kind of drags. This year I actually think it's gone by pretty fast due to having so much to discuss, so many players to debate over, etc.

Jody Genessy @DJJazzyJody 15 JunJazz's Sunday pre-draft workout will include Will Clyburn, Robert Covington, Troy Daniels, Rodney McGruder, E.J. Singler and Adonis Thomas.

Another workout? This one with 6 guys that aren't even mocked in the second round.

Jazz must be trying to start a new D-League team and are looking for a roster.

I like the idea of Adonis Thomas.
