Official NJ Nets Watch

Nets hung tough, though. This is going to be like last year when the Knicks became a .500 team down the stretch and we went from hoping for a top-5 pick to sliding all the way down to #9. I think NJ is too far behind to have a chance at the playoffs. However, I see them catching at least Detroit - that team has quit. Maybe they also finish ahead of Milwaukee, but with the Baron for Mo deal, I think the Clippers actually got better. My guess is that NJ finishes at #7 and no better than #8.

Yeah my dad said Deron came out of the game tonight and then went back in after a while. The wrist thing is probably a career long issue. How many years have we seen it pop up now?

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Nets shut him down for an extended period -- especially if they don't start winning some games soon. No sense risking their investment on a lost cause.

Hmmm. New Jersey is only 2 games ahead of number 3 overall (with considerations for lottery) and three games behind nearest competitor (detroit) and currently sitting at 6.

This pick could turn out pretty good.

There you go.

Funny.

I would assume that the Jazz will end up taking Enes Kanter who's a true center (undersized but skilled and adept, seems like Memo meets Cole Aldrich), he's a Turk so I would guess he could be mentored by Memo.

if the jazz fall from grace out of the playoffs, my guess is that pick would be a Jimmer.

I don't see the Jazz falling more than 5 games in the standing from where they are right now (worst case scenario). if they did they would be 11th in the lottery.

I think the Jazz will make the playoffs.

Might not be the end of the world. I was hoping for an additional lottery pick, but in this draft #14 might not even be as good as #24 next year. KOC still has the GS pick he can deal. So Utah takes a SF with the #6 pick, like Barnes or Jones, KOC trades the GS pick + CJ for a legit starting SG, re-signs AK for a reasonable price and we're in business.

I'd rather just send the pick to Minnesota as soon as possible. That would be this year.

Wow, another trash DW thread disguised as another thread.

Morrow drop 25 pts on the Spurs. The Jazz certainly couldn't use a guy like Morrow.

I just spent 30 minutes on draftexpress, and, yeah, I see what you are all saying about this weak class. Harrison Barnes seems like an interesting prospect...

I'll be upset if we end up with one of the 6'8" PFs, the defensively inept bigs, or Jimmer. Please, no Jimmer.

Nets gonna fall to Houston. Deron with his usual high assist, poor shooting night. He needs to take a couple weeks off for that wrist- just keeps tweaking it.

Yeah Deron needs to rest before this becomes a career injury. If I'm Nets management, I'd let him sit as long as he wants until he feels the wrist is healthy enough to perform effectively
