Official Offseason Rumors Thread

Perhaps NOLA would make that trade if they won the lotto. Hayward would be a nice player to pair with AD.

Hayward for Ingram or Simmons is laughable, sets this team back years

Agree...you almost have to commit to rebuilding unless there is another move that happens first(Favors, Hood and Next years 1st for Jimmy Butler)

I would trade Hayward for Simmons so damn fast. I'd strongly consider a deal for Ingram too.

This. As i have been saying.... until the jazz find a star player they should always be trying to get one.

Ya all those playoffs wins that hayward has brought to the jazz would go away. Darn it.
Really though exum, hood, burks, favors, gobert, lyles, mack, simmons still looks pretty damn good plus we have lots o money to go after a batum/bazemore type. We would be fine replacing hayward with simmons. Like i said, its not like hayward has brought us lots of playoff wins. Hayward is not a star. simmons might be though.

No. Simmons, hood, burks, favors, lyles, exum, gobert, bazemore/batum/barnes/etc etc is still a team capable of making the playoffs and at least being as good as any team that hayward has been on.
Obviously it sets them back. That's not the point. In the long run, would you rather have Cory maggette or kevin durant?

That might be the difference.
This. Always try for the superstar. swing for the fences. The team as its currently constructed could lose pretty much any player and not take too big of a hit. None of our current players are irreplaceable superstars. Lose hayward and pick up ingram/simmons and grab a good free agent and we are just as good as we have been at any point in the last 5 years.

perhaps .. but best case even if you end up with a Durant ... has he won it all ??

Durant has won a lot more than hayward. (or anyone else on our team)
Getting to the finals and being a championship contender year after year > missing the playoffs imho.

I've been posting that I think Brandon Ingram is a better prospect than Hayward for quite some time here, probably first posted it over a year ago..

Pretty sure I thought that before Ingram really blew up into the top-3 (in the HS rankings)..

.

Shut up..just shut it!

He got to the finals once and hasn't been back since .... or even close really I love KD but the whole must have a superstar thing hasn't worked out for OKC, in face they've had 2 absolute superstars and they haven't really done diddly when it comes down to it.

So... are there any REAL rumours in this thread so far?!?!

Real rumors (from Locke and 1280 the zone):

Jazz were in trade talks with teams for big trades, but the other team backed out. Two were confirmed by locke, and one is likely to happen this summer. Locke said one was likely jeff teague and another was going to be a free agent this summer and that the jazz would go after them.

Locke said jazz will pursue Conley. Although he doesn't know how far it will go. He also said they will make a phone call about durant.

Alec burks might not be dead.

If you are trading Hayward for Simmons you pretty much have to trade one of our bigs, right? I mean, if you are giving up our best player for Simmons, he has to play.

Good chance Simmons plays the 3, right?

How about Jeff Green? Nice size.

Haha funny you mention Jeff Green. On Zach Lowe's podcast with Kevin Arnovitz, Zach and Kevin spend almost a minute talking about how every team that has made a move to get Jeff Green is fooled into thinking Jeff Green is good, then they get him on the team and realize he's not hahaha.

It's true. Jeff Green is not good.

You realize Hayward and Jimmy Butler are same tier stars right? And Please don't argue Butler is on another level.

I think it's fair to say Hayward is a star. Definitely. He's just not and elite talent or a superstar. But frankly there are less than 10 guys in the league that are superstars.

Is Hayward a top 25-30 player in the league? Yeah. Those guys are stars.
