Official Offseason Rumors Thread

The worst part about trading for Tibor was signing him to a contract. Dude is sloooooow.

I don't blame DL for taking a calculated chance on him. He measured at a colossal 7'7" wingspan and was supposedly hitting 3s in his workout like Mehmet Okur.
His 3rd year looks to be a team option, which was a smart move by DL.

Locke says the Jazz assistant GM job is one of the most coveted jobs in the league right now.

Why wouldn't it be. Lindsey hasn't made the playoffs or signed a free agent in 4 years and he just got a contract extension. I might put my name in hat for this one.

Jazz take advantage of Kings now trade:

Jazz trade Trey Burke & 2 future Second's #52 this year and say the GSW one in two years for Darren Collinson who was arrested on domestic violence charges today......

And swap #12 with their #8 pick.

We waive Collinson and eat the $2.4M difference in pay and lose two seconds, but move up 4 slots to the sweet spot of the draft where Hield, Murry, Chriss etc could be.

Sacrament picks up 2 picks, saves $2.4M in cap next year, get a solid back up pg, and only move down 4 slots in a draft where the talent 8-16 is all about the same.

Then they can easily say to their fans that who they picked at #12 was who they would have taken at #8. They can then take a PG like Valentine or Baldwin. They also move on from the publicity black-eye.

None of the black-eye sticks to the Jazz because we just waive him and move up in the draft.

Thoughts?

The Jazz FO sent their peeps out all over town to buy up all the Hayward jerseys. That's an indication he's staying? I don't think that means what Alex Shedden thinks it means.

btw I'm just having fun here

In essence, Jazz give #12 + Burke + 2 second rounders + take Collison off their hands.
Kings give #8.

I think this is brilliant. A win-win.

Lol. You're so qualified.

To be fair, they both have the same amount of playoff births under their belts. As long as Mellow has the nomenclature down --- "tremendous", "no comment", "upside", "dont skip steps" --- he'll be just fine.

Makes no sense for the Kings.

Trey Burke sucks, he isn't a solid backup. He has solid backup potential, but that is decreasing each year.

If they really want out of Collision, they can just cut him themselves. Saving 2.4 million isn't worth giving up 4 slots in the lottery.

Wow, Collison got arrested? Of course you knew that, and are proposing a trade to take advantage of it. Nice work Blackham.

Did you Know about this: Kings point guard Darren Collison charged with domestic violence When you made that proposal?

"Collison was also booked for two outstanding misdemeanor warrants totaling $7,500 for driving with a suspended license, according to KCRA-TV. He faces up to four years in state prison and $6,000 in fines if convicted of the spousal felony domestic violence charge in California, CBS13 reported. The 6-foot, 175-pound point guard was released on $55,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 11."

It's literally in the first sentence of his trade proposal.

Plot Twist: Mellow is secretly Sam Hinkie, is qualified, and is excited by the lack of playoffs.

Am I Sam Hinkie? That is an excellent question Jope, and I understand why you have to ask it. Let me just say, you know guys, with my time here on Jazzfanz I have witnessed many people posting using aliases, or alts, if you will, and I understand why people do that, really I do. Its part of the game, and if you think about even the Clutch Fans board and Spurs Talk forum allows people to sign up using a discrete user name. But what we have here on Jazzfanz is really unique, with the support of Jason and Colton and with the dedicated service of the moderators who live and die with Jazzfanz, we are positioned to have long term success in a championship level message board.

This is a good point too though.

If the talent is "all about the same" why make this trade? All the Jazz have done is pay out a bunch of stuff for something that doesn't really benefit the team.
