Official Player Workouts for the Utah Jazz

Sloan had good things to say about Gobert that influenced that move. I'd have him check out all of my workouts. Guy has forgotten more about basketball than most will ever learn in their lifetimes.

Sloan has alzheimer's? Link?

We must really be looking at small forwards, the jazz are brining in Josh Huestis ,from my former school, later this week. I really really like this kid. He's about 6'8 with a 7'1 wingspan and jumps out the gym. Pretty decent three point shooter but very good midrange shooter. The best thing about him is that he is truly a lock down defender. From what I've looked up he was the best defender by a mile at that senior NBA camp they had earlier this month

We got another player!

@Tjonessltrib: Hearing rumblings that Stanford forward Josh Huestis will work out for the Utah Jazz on May 8

Looks like we are looking at the #35 spot or potential Undrafted players. Sounds like huestis is a good defender.

Oh yea! The sticky is back. And the work outs are starting.
Maybe the guys at 1280 will ask Lindsey about workouts, if he comes on air this week.

Anything is better than more talk aboutSterling, or talking coaches without naming names.

Huestis was the primary defender on Andrew Wiggins when Stanford beat Kansas in the tournament, Wiggins had 4points on 1/6 shooting in 34 minutes. Hes also Stanfords all-time leading shotblocker

Wonder what the plans are for Marvin? He wants to return, but it didn't sound like he was too keen on playing PF. Jazz could need to add two SF's with the #23 and #35 (or via free agency).

Heustis should be a late 2nd or UDFA...I wouldn't take him at 35.

Has potential to be a 3 and D player. Unlike the Stanford dude that posted earlier, I've never seen much of a midrange game from him. Can't really dribble well. Great wingspan, good jumping, good shot blocking instincts.

I've been talking about him for a decent bit now, really got sold on him in the tournament.

I've been reading up more about him, apparently the guy who runs impact gym who trains wade and a bunch of NBA guys has been training Huestis and he's been killing it from three and handles, couple of teams like his potential as a SG. Also read he has been destroying people in workouts and apparently he either wasn't used right at Stanford or just gained some new confidence. According to draftexpress guys who have talked to NBA teams there are a couple of teams wanting to work him out again then shut down the rest of his workouts. Sounds like a possible good pick up for us if all of this is true. Wouldn't surprise me if the Spurs get him and then we end up kicking ourselves for passing on him

Sounds like either UDA or if someone like Huestis really impresses, the Jazz could buy a pick later in the 2nd round. I already expect the #35 will be packaged with the #23 to try to move up - or as part of a player trade for a vet.

I think Marvin will play more at SF if he is signed back onto the team. It sounded like he wasn't ready to play a lot of PF minutes this last season.

I like Marvin Williams, I just hated how much he helped the team last year.

I like both of the guys that I've heard mentioned for workouts. You can never have too many players that can spread the floor and defend well. The spread the floor part is usually the question in that equation.

Jazz could also trade one of their second round picks because I think the got two from GS and Denver coming up the next few years. Philly would be the team to talk to because they have 5 second round picks along with their two lottery picks.

With all the talent in is draft I don't see anyway they can move up. No one is going to trade their top 5 picks for later picks. They could trade the 23rd and second round pick for a late lotto though

True but in this draft you can get the same player at 35 or 23 that you can get at 16. Every player after the top 5-7 are pretty much the same as far as impact IMO. Of course they will separate as their careers unfold but at this point they don't really separate from each other when you go down the list

I'm thinking that #35 and #23 could get us around #16, think it would be worth it?
