OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

I have a different point of view on the "tiers" in the West

Tier 1: Warriors
Tier 2: Thunder, Clippers, Rockets, Spurs
Tier 3: Grizzlies, Jazz, Suns, Pelicans, Blazers, Mais
Tier 4: Kings, Timberwolves, Nuggets, Lakers

Warriors remain in league by themselves. The only team with the talent to challenge the Warriors are the Thunder and they seem hungry. But they won't have enough, lose in WC finals.
Spurs finish 5th seed due to age and rest.
Only 5 locks. Battle for last 3 playoff spots. I pick Grizz, Jazz, Suns

Pelicans lost. Again. When they get healthy they are going to have a huge hole to dig themselves out of. They are 0-5 and already 2 1/2 games out of the 8th spot.

Lakers finally won and are now 1-4.

Nuggets @ Warriors and Rockets @ Kings still waiting for tip off.

I was hoping we would be better than New Orleans this year. Looking at the potential contenders for playoffs spots before the season, NO was definitely one
to be worried about. It's looking good early though! They are super thin at C, and already in a hole. Some thought the Lakers might be a contender for a bottom seed. That is not looking true at this point. Minn still looks too young. Portland is the surprise team early. Can they sustain?

I think the key is to bury some of these teams early that might catch fire late in the season. If we can put a good enough cushion on teams like the Pelicans, Tpups, Lakers, and Mavs it'll put all the pressure on them come crunch time. Like last year when we put it together in Feb it was already too late to really do anything. I love talking playoffs in Nov. lol.

Decent night, the Pelicans, Nuggets, Suns and Kings all lost last night.

Lakers, Rockets and Warriors Won. Lakers are only 1-4 now and the Jazz are not catching the Warriors. The Rockets are turning it aroound and are now right behind the Jazz.

Tonight is another night for good games:

Grizzlies @ Jazz
Wolves @ Bulls
Pelicans @ Mavs
Hornets @ Spurs
Warriors @ Kings
Rockets @ Clips

If the Jazz win and key teams lose the Jazz can get some seperation tonight and maybe move up a little.
Updating standings now.

I have a legitimate question for you and all other Jazzfanz. How much money would it take for you to be paid to cancel your Friday night plans and watch the Lakers vs. Nets game alone?

Couldn't be any worse than watching that byu football game last night

Why do we want the wolves to beat the bulls? Was that simply a typo?

Keep up the good work by the way, I love what you are doing here

Thnaks guys. If everyone likes these i will start doing them annually.

Every game counts. We need to pick up a win tonight against a playoff spot contender. Lets go 1-1 at home, and sit nice and pretty come 4-2 Sunday morning.

I want a great game boys.

It's gonna take at-least the rest of 2015 for New Orleans to get past this start.

I'm starting to believe in the playoff push and around 45 wins.

Portland might end up contending for a spot despite being projected to win 20-something games.

Phoenix will be in the race.

All teams are integrating new parts, the haves and the have-not's are starting to separate themselves though.

Jazz win!!! Good win and I like how the Jazz wwere able to hold on when a team capable of great D clampped down hard. Good lesson and the W is always great to have.

Wolves beat the Bulls
Mavs beat the Pelicans
Spurs over the Hornets
Warriors over Kings
Rockets beat the Clips

Rockets, Thunder, Clips, Spurs and Warriors are going to make it. It looks like 3 spots are up for grabs and it looks like a slobber knocker is forming up. Jazz, Wolves, Mavs, Blazers and Suns all look to be comepting for it. I'm hoping for Jazz, Wolves and Suns/Blazers.

Memphis looks old and tired. Kings are not getting it done and the Pelicans are a train wreck right now.

Not to much going on tonight in the race in the west.

Lakers @ Knicks
Suns @ Thunder Torn but I think Thunder are a playoff given so I guess I want the Suns to lose?
Pistons @ Blazers

Yeah, Thunder and Warriors wins don't matter to me right now. If they're playing any borderline west playoff team I'd prefer they just win it.

I have a bet with a guy at work that the Jazz will be within 10 wins of the Spurs, so I kind of need the Spurs to not be as good as they're supposed to be.

But it's sort of a win-win bet. If I lose I have to give him a 12 pack of my beer and if I win he has to buy me a 12 pack of liquor store beer. I'm assuming we'll drink them together. Oh, and if the Jazz end with a better record than the Spurs he'll buy me 24 liquor store beers.

Just realized that if the Blazers lose tonight (at home against the Pistons) than the Jazz will lead the NW division. They will be tied for 2nd best record in the west with Spurs and Clippers.

OK, to business!

Not to many games impacted the Jazz last night but the ones that did broke the Jazz's way.

Suns, Lakers (haha losers) and Blazers lost. The Thunder won but they will finish ahead of us so whatever.

Go check what that means for the jazz in the OP!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!

Tonight's games:

Wolves @ Hawks
Blazers @ Nuggets (Nuggets are farther behind Utah than the Blazers, we need some separation)
Spurs @ Kings
Pistons @ Warriors (yeah right lol)
Grizzlies @ Clippers (hate the clips but we need more separation form the Grizzlies)

I'm watching the Nuggs/Blazers game...very impressed with Mudiay's defense on Lillard late in the game. He just blocked Lillards layup. And just made a big shot to give the nuggets a 4 point lead with 56 seconds left. Maybe if Exum were healthy, he athletic/quick/long enough to give Lillard a hard time.
