OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

So last night was a mixed bag. Blazers, Kings and Grizzlies all lost but the Wolves, Spurs, Warriors and Clippers all won.

Kings are 1-7 and are now 4 games behind the Jazz. The Grizzlies lost placed them 2 games behind and the Blazers lost placed them 1 game behind. Nuggets are still 1 1/2 games down.

So tonight there are 5 games that affect seeds 4-8 in the playoff race in the west:

Jazz @ Cavs
Thunder @ Wizards (Every Thunder loss might count)
Lakers @ Heat
Hornets @ Wolves (Jazz are tied with the Wolves)
Mavs @ Pelicans (need separation from the Mavs)

Could some of the Jazz's toughest competition be division "rivals"? The entire NW division is still within 1 1/2 games of each other. They hold seeds 4, 5, 7, 8 and 11.

I would love to see the Thunder fall from the playoff picture for a second consecutive year. It shouldn't happen with Durant and Westbrook. Kanter's really going to have to reach into his bag of tricks. I hope he does everything in his power to help them give the 2016 lottery a run. I'm confident that he will.

That Kanter defensive influence:

25th in OPP PPG @ 107.9, Jazz are 1st @ 85 ppg
16th in OPP FG% @ 44.1, Jazz are 1st @ 39.4
23rd in OPP 3% @ 35.8, Jazz are 17th @ 33.9
20th in OPP TOs PG @ 13.9, Jazz are 8th @ 16.3

Tough loss for the Jazz tonight. They were in this game. The Jazz fought whistle to whistle and refused to roll over and give up. They made the Cavs pull out all the sstops, all their tricks. Very promising game for the future.

Thunder and Pelicans won.

Mavs, Wolves and Lakers (HAHA losers) lost. Jazz didn't lose any ground to the Mavs or Wolves.

Games tomorrow (11/11):

Lakers @ Magic
Pelicans @ Hawks
Clips @ Mavs
Nets @ Rockets
Warriors @ Grizzlies
Bucks @ Nuggets
Pistons @ Kings
Spurs @ Blazers

Alright Jazzfanerz!!! GAME DAY!!!

Here is last nights break down:

Lakers, Pelicans, Clippers, Rockets (HAHAHA, to the Nets)Grizzlies and Blazers lost.

Spurs, Nuggets, Kings, Warriors and Mavs won.

Tonight's games:

Jazz @ Heat
Warriors @ Wolves
Clippers @ Suns

Hope that the road teams go 3-3! Clips and Warriors are a level above the Jazz and the Suns and Wolves appear to be bigger contenders for the same seeds the Jazz are going for.

Time for Utah to show that the Cleveland game was not a fluke. Come out hard and punch Miami right in the mouth and never let up. If the Jazz win they will be tied with the Thunder for 1st in the division. If the Wolves also win it'll be a 3 way tie.

Nuggets are in the playoffs as of now and the Blazers fell out with last nights loss. NW still represented by 4 teams! Still early enough in the season that the 2-12 seeds change daily.

OP updated.

Thanks again, Stoked. Keep up the good work!

Well, Jazz took another playoff team to the limit on their home court. Only this time they got Boshed instead of Lebroned.

Clippers and Wolves also lost. Warriors and Suns won. Mixed bag. Jazz are now tied with the Suns, Wolves, Rockets, Mavs and Nuggets at 4-4. Still listed as the 5th seed.

TOnights games:

Wolves @ Pacers
Jazz @ Magic
Pelicans @ Raptors
Blazers @ Grizzlies (win win)
Sixers @ Thunder (yeah right lol)
Lakers @ Mavs (Hate the Lakers but a Mavs loss helps the Jazz more. Can they both lose?)
Rockets @ Nuggets (go Nuggets lmfao)
Nets @ Kings (I want the Kings to lose just to see more disaster in Sactown)

Turning into a good night for the Jazz. Wolves and Blazers lost. Thunder are losing.

I will update the OP tomorrow morning after all the games are done.

No team (in the East or West) that's currently in the playoff picture has played as many road games as us. We're gonna surge in the second half of the season.

This doesn't even mention the overall quality of opponents. Go look at Novembers list. Cavs, Warriors, Mavs, Spurs, Rockets, Clippers...

Also last night broke the Jazz's way. We wont hat grind out close game we narrowly missed in Detroit, Cleveland and Miami.

In addition to that the Pelicans, Wolves, Blazers and thunder lost. The Lakers and Grizzlies won.

Some good games tonight:

Mavs @ Sixers
Celtics @ Rockets
Thunder @ Grizzlies (I like the Grizzlies but I think their loss helps the Jazz more)
Blazers @ Spurs
Lakers @ Suns (A suns loss helps the Jazz more but I detest the Lakers)

I'd rather the Blazers lose. We need some padding on that 7-8th seed. Unless you really think it's a given and we'll be fighting for a top 4 playoff spot.

I highlighted the Spurs because I want the Spurs to win. A Spurs win is a Blazers loss. Did you mean the Suns?

Hope we don't slide in at #8. GS is going to slaughter that team. Curry is at Jordan level right now,

Honestly believe we have a good chance to finish above 8th. I feel like there's a bit more parity in the league this year. Not at the top--Golden State is clearly ahead of everyone else, and there are a few teams like SA and CLE in that second tier. But I feel like there are a dozen teams in that third tier right now.
