OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

Back in 8th. I was just looking. I don't want to face GSW or SA. It's crazy that OKC is the team I want to face out of the top 3.

Last night's recap:

Blazers, Suns and Nuggets lost.

Wolves, Kings and Pelicans won.

On the whole it was a good night.

Tonight's games:

Kings @ Wizards
Wolves @ Celtics
Blazers @ Hawks
Hornets @ Rockets
Pacers @ Spurs
Suns @ Jazz
Thunder @ Clippers (Clippers loss would be the most beneficial)

Tonight is a big game. The jazz are in 8th and have a 1 game lead on the Suns. It will also help the Jazz make up some ground on the 4 - 7 seeds.

OP Updated

Huge win for the Jazz tonight to give them a cushion for what seems like an inevitable loss at Golden State (I hope I eat my words!). The Whorenets couldn't beat the Rockets unfortunately. I liked it better when Houston was a dumpster fire, but I guess I can deal with them turning it around considering I had them a lock for a top 6 seed in the West preseason.

If the Jazz can stay comfortably (2 or 3 game cushion) in top 8 until Rudy comes back, we should all be ecstatic.

Last night's recap:

Last night went almost perfect for the Jazz.

Clippers, Suns, Wolves, Blazers and Kings all lost.

Thunder beat the Clips, Spurs and Jazz won. Only down side is that the Rockets won as well.

Last night gave the Jazz a 1 1/2 game lead on the 8th seed. The Jazz now have tie breakers against the 9th seed Nuggets and 10th seed Suns.

Tonight's Games:

Grizzlies @ Sixers (hahaha)
Mavs @ Raptors (This would be very nice)
Lakers @ Nuggets (Hate the Lakers but a Nuggets loss helps more)

Sorry I slacked off...Christmas and all that.

So last night: Jazz win!!!!!!!!!!!! SO did the Warriors, Spurs, Mavs and Clips (dang it on those last 2)

Lakers, Pelicans, Wolves, Suns and Kings all lost.

Tonight's games:

Hawks @ Rockets (This would be big as the Rockets are in 7th)
Heat @ Grizzlies (again big as the Grizz are in 6th)
Bucks @ Thunder (can the Bucks pull off another miracle?)
Cavs @ Nuggets

Random: Jazz are in 8th place. They are 1 1/2 behind Houston, 2 behind Memphis and 4 behind the Mavs. They are also 2 ahead of the Blazers, Kings and Nuggets.

After all that has happened the Jazz are still very much in this race still. Plus they have a relatively easier schedule coming up. Whithey and Lyles are starting to play better too.

Optimism time:

we're only three losses back from the 4th seed. While things could soon get ugly, as of today, we're still hanging around and ready to make a run.

(pretty worried about the next 20 games, though)

Last night the announcers said that the Jazz had the 2nd toughest schedule up till last night. Then said they have the 4th easiest schedule for the rest of the season. They mentioned the OKC x 3, GSW x 2, Clips x 2, CLE...

So Jazz are still very much in this. But they need to come to play every night. No lapses.

They need Rudy Gobert and Derrick favors back asap

I'm impressed(?) you can still listen to the jazz announcers.

So many close losses this season and so many injuries. This team could easily be a 4 seed right now if we got a few of those close ones. But we will get Favors back next game or 2. Rudy should get back soon and this team is primed with an easy schedule to make a run. If we can get momentum and play well and healthy post all star break we could actually get a decent seed and not have to play GS or SA which means we could possibly win a playoff series. Although that means this team has to step up and we cant have anymore major injuries.

I agree that we matchup best against the Warriors. I don't think that either of those teams want to play us. We matchup well in theory against the Spurs, but they are tried and tested and would own us. So, I am actually voting for 8th place. If we won 2 games against the Warriors that would be considered a successful playoff run by me. If we got swept by the Spurs, not so much learning. I see a win or two against the Warriors as a possibility. Especially if they have an injury and we get everyone healthy by then.

We are doing fine and will get better at winning close games as we continue to be put into that situation night in and night out.

I'm going to turn listening to them into a drinking game (like last night when Boler asked if Withey rolled his ankle or got poked in the eye. What happened is he took the back of someone's head to his mouth. TAKE A DRINK!). When they get something completely wrong you take a drink. That and their idiocy makes my wife laugh.

Eric Bledsoe is out for the year with a torn meniscus. SAC might be the biggest competition unless Devin Booker plays out of his mind or something

I was so kunfuzed by that Boler sequence last night that I didn't realize how funny it was until you pointed it out. Thnx! Man, I sure miss Hot Rod.

Honestly I see the Jazz as their own competition. If they get their crap together they are in. If not then they lost the playoffs instead of another team beating them out.

The Jazz are firmly in 8th place right now. They'd be in 12th place and 4 games out of the last playoff spot if they were in the East. How weird is that?

Best part is that I love how RealGM is reacting. Worsten Conference and Beastern Conference and crap like that lol. Watching them freak out is funny.
