OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

^^^ This ^^^ I have been concerned that we won't be able to keep any of the core guys and then we start another rebuild which leads to the possibility of a sale of the team from Larry H. Miller corp. Wow, I just took my pessimism up a notch. Boom.

at least it's not groundless pessimism, we have seen this movie before. The core of Millsap and Big Al, the big 4 core, and this current core ... the truth is we will never get to the top seeds without a legit #1 like OKC with KD, so we will always have an "good enough" team and I hate being the farm system for the rest of the league.

Mavs lost again. I honestly don't see them winning more than 6 games the rest of the way:

@ Hornets
@ Cavs
vs Warriors
vs Blazers
@ Blazers
@ Warriors
@ Kings
@ Nuggets
vs Knicks
@ Pistons
@ Wolves
vs Rockets
vs Grizzlies
@ Clippers
@ Jazz
vs Spurs

If we beat them on our home court, we'll have the tiebreaker over them. And then a 39-43 record would likely be enough to get us in the playoffs - we'd only have to finish our remaining 17 games at 9-8. So doable.

I see the Jazz at the very best winning 10 of the next 17 games. I believe we can make it but it'll be by the ksin of our teeth. Biggest key is we can't lose any games that we are suppose to win (Suns, Lakers ect)

A sale of the team would be the best scenario, tbh. The Miller kiddies aren't passionate about basketball. They were so disinterested, Gail turned the team over to a board. Boards have profits as their #1 priority. Jazz need to be sold to an investment group headed up by a majority owner who WANTS to WIN and would commit to staying in Utah. And that shouldn't be hard to do if Vivint arena is also part of the sale. It's owned by the Millers, I believe, not the city, which is pretty unusual in pro sports.

Playoff odds are 49% (ESPN, before today's Dallas loss) to 60% (FiveThirtyEight after Dallas loss). Both have us winning 39. Favorable schedule and Dallas choking. I think we want it more than Dallas but Dallas has the experience on stretch runs. So I agree it is a coin flip.

MAN! Wet Bandit is straight CRUSHING the Rockettes!!!!

Once a Jazzman always a Jazzman :')

He has been insane the last two months. Just look at his 3pt% over that span.

Grizzlies going to lose too. With Mike Conley out, they might actually be in for a nosedive. They still have a team that plays super hard tho, so they will probably still win games vs lower tier teams enough to keep themselves in the playoffs.

JESUS he's been crushing. He's been on my fantasy team too ;)

Good day today, Dallas and Houston both losing. I think the Jazz can win at least 7 of the next 10 and hopefully that's enough to have us in the picture again.

9-8 only gets us to 39 wins? ****

My money is as good as gone

Is todays game a supposed to win game?

When the hell is Burks coming back? Is he dead?

So frustrating. It seemed that rudy was out a little longer than expected (I could be wrong on that), I thought favors would only miss like a couple games and he ends up missing like 20 or something, Burks was supposed to be out 6-8 weeks and we are at what, 10 or 11 weeks now?

It's like the jazz are trying to make me lose my bet

If the Jazz can get some real PG play, we could get to 40 wins, which would seem to be a moral victory. That said, I could see Rick Carlisle out-coaching us in that critical game against Dallas at home. DWill played his best ball there.

This race with Dallas is going to be very close. I could see Dallas getting to 41 wins, especially if San Antonio is resting their players the last game of the season. We kinda need Dallas to lose 5 of their next 6.
