Rockets lost and Blazers won! Mixed night for Utah.

Tonight's games:

Mavs @ Pistons
Raptors @ Grizzlies
Wolves @ Jazz

I think the Blazers win probably sealed them into the playoffs. It is still possible they collapse, but very unlikely. It appears it is a race of three teams for two spots now.

Boston playing GS Tough. It would be quite the story if the Warriors wore themselves out going for the season wins record then lost in the playoffs. It would be a better story if they lost in the first round.

Dallas with a big victory at Detroit. Utah may need to pick up a win at home against SA or LAC AND win all the rest of their games.

At least they have dallas on their schedule and its at home. That will help a lot. Memphis going to keep losing too.

Jazz seem to be peaking. Lyles, mack, neto booker and occasionally ingles are kind of peaking at the end of the season. I expect favors back for the next game and i expect burks to play very soon too.
I still think rudy could hit another gear before this season ends. He has continued to rebound well and i have seen some flashes of an offensive game. Even those floaters that he is missing are the right shot they just arent going in. Good to see a hook and jumper coming around. He is still a decent passer too.

For this to be true, Dallas would need to go undefeated (except against us), and Houston would have to go undefeated in every remaining game except for the one against Dallas.

Highly highly unlikely.

EDIT: And on top of all that, Memphis would also need to win at least two more games, which honestly is looking like a tough task for them at this point.

Unlikely, perhaps. But not far-fetched. Jazz losing two games puts them at 42-40.

1. Utah does own the tiebreaker over Memphis,IINM. Grizzlies have a brutal schedule, They could win at Orlando or home against Chicago. Then they finish @Dal, GS, @LAC, @GS. Memphis should finish no better than 42-40 (just 1 more win). But they could possibly win two (Orl, Chi) to get to 43.

2. Houston may win out. Big game against OKC at home. Then a key game at Dallas. Win against OKC at home and lose to Dallas on the road and they could win 42 games. I believe they own the tiebreaker against Utah.

3. Dallas. Finishing better than I thought. Tough games @Utah and @LAC. Last game against SA they'll be playing against the Spurs subs. Could finish with 42 wins. Again, I think they own the tiebreaker against Utah.

Jazz can't afford to stumble if they lose at home to SA and LAC. Trap games come @Denver and @Lakers. They'll be playing against a highly-motivated Lakers team and officials who will be biased in wanting to see Kobe go out with a win.

GSW are unravelling, not sure even if they'll make the record now needing to win 5 out of 6.

If they don't get the record, wonder what that'll do to their morale come playoff time? I hope we get them and smash them.

If anything it would motivate them more if they dont get it.

Won't matter so much if they're worn out from the effort to keep pace. Them getting the record and losing in the first round would be such a sweet story. Bulls won their championship. Warriors are going to have a hard time with the Spurs and will likely have at least two difficult series to repeat.

Stop being dumb and think.

The Warriors key players have hardly played in 4th quarters all year. They will be fine. Not resting players now has little effect on early playoff rounds and is more about the later rounds. It also applies more to older teams.

True and true. But you can't deny that they looked tired in each of these past 2 games. I doubt they lose in the 1st round, but it would be a great story line. With that said, I think the Spurs are the best team in the NBA right now and a terrible match for them. Everybody is making a big deal about the record, but I think they're making a big mistake by not getting some more rest before the playoffs start.

Rudy Gobert is starting to come alive at the right time. His scoring is down, but for the last four games in a row his rebounds and blocks are like this: 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. 19 rebounds and 2 blocks (in only 27 minutes). 18 rebounds and 2 blocks. 14 rebounds and 3 blocks. 2 of those games were double doubles and one of them he also had 4 assists. Obviously he has struggled offensively, especially from the free throw line, but at least we have seen him make a few jumpers recently and a nice hook shot. Also i feel like he has been moving (running and jumping) better recently.

He also had a stretch of games in march where his rebounding numbers were 18, 18, 15, 15, 11, 8, 11, 16. with a 5 block game in there, a 3 block game and a couple of 2 block games. (his scoring numbers were really low during that stretch though. only scored in double figures in one of the games with 13 points. which was a 13 point, 18 rebound, 5 block game that we lost to memphis by 6 but rudy was +13 for the game. That was also jazzfanz mini meet up #2 night)

Rudy has been criticized allot recently, and has deserved a lot of it, but he is very important to the success of the jazz and hopefully is starting to turn it on right at the most important time.

Haha, historical juggernaut unraveling at the end of the regular season. GG Bawse & other Curry bandwagoners. Just wait until Playoffs.

Can't believe I got infractions on this vanilla board for calling out Curry.

Hope Jazz get's 8th seed and wrecks GSW. Would be the biggest upset in NBA history.

You and me both

May have been posted already, but Tony Parker of San Antonio mentioned they "will probably fly out for the Utah game at least" (regarding will the big 3 even get on a plane and play in another road game this regular season). I assume Popovich thinks Utah may be 7th seed so they are going to get the feel for Jazz in that game in case you two meet up in first round.

GS is unraveling? Why, because a rested Utah team took them to overtime on a back-to-back?
Or because they finally missed a few shots down the stretch against Boston? They finally lost. WOW...write their obituary. 15-2 in March, but 0-1 in April. Yes, I see the trend. Going to limp into the playoffs and lose in the 2nd round.
