Official Round 1 Predictions: Jazz-V-Thunder

People are reading waaaaaay too much into the loss last night. Tough opponent... back end of a back-to-back and 3rd game in 4 nights. With flights from LA to Utah to Portland. These guys aren't robots... tired legs will miss shots.

I hoped we could win, but it shouldn't surprise anyone that we were flat.
This.

I realize the Portland game was tough but we are on the backend of a back to back... they play a style that gives us issue and no one was making shots.

They were waiting for us at home, fresh and their guys shot well... we lost by 9... it happens.

The Jazz may have lost by 9, but they were down by 10-20 most of the game. It wasn't even close. They destroyed everything the Jazz wanted to do on the offense. It felt like what the Jazz usually do to other teams. And there was very little response.

I'm disheartened because it's not the first time they've done it. It felt exactly the same way the game felt when the Blazers ended the Jazz's winning streak after the All-Star break.

I don’t think it’s that at all. I totally understand why the Jazz lost to Portland they way they did. It was a perfect storm for a Portland victory. I literally factor zero of last nights performance into how we will do vs OKC. However, the fact of the matter is that I don’t think we can win 2 games in OKC and I think that’s what it will take to win this series. Thus, losing HC cost us a chance to advance. (Again, I HOPE I’m wrong)

People on this board usually confuse objectivity with not being a fan. Personally I prefer the non kool aid drinking posts. You build a good case and I tend to agree. And like you, I hope I am wrong.

Ricky was awesome last night. Loved that he called out the refs. He is playing at such a high level. Hopefully he can do something about Westbrook.

All these non believers man.

Jazz in 4.

Even if Westbrook and pg13 get 30 each every game, we still win all those games. It comes down to Adams, melo, and their bench to win the series

OKC is a pretty bad matchup for the Jazz. I'm sorry but I don't see the Jazz doing well against them. RW, PG and CA is too much to handle in the playoffs so I'll say... OKC in 5.

LOL, can't wait till you curse the Jazz 3 minutes into the game.

For sure. Westbrook and PG13 are going to have to be dominant offensively for OKC. Look how great Lillard and McCollum were offensively for Portland last night. Can Rus and PG really match that kind of production?
Can Rus and PG really match that kind of production... for 4-7 games?

So I trust you were one of those "rational" fans who knew we'd go on a run when we got Gobert back...?

Really need to beat them with our subs; their bench isn't great, think we have the advantage there, but need to execute against it.

Only bad part is I expect some superstar treatment for PG and Russ; would love to see us try and get them in foul trouble.

Just think of the drama potentially of utah sweeps the Thunda. Paul George and Caramello will probably be gone.

It felt exactly the same way the game felt when the Blazers ended the Jazz's winning streak after the All-Star break.

Then what happened? We ran off another string of wins. In the 4th POR let the gas pedal up a bit, but Mitchell also started to figure things out. He started scoring at that point. He's such a quick study, I think facing the same team over and over is going to really be to his advantage.

Some people also thought clippers will win the series last year lol

stating we had no chance. lmao

Everybody that keeps bringing this up must not understand the HUGE difference betweeb OKC’s HC Advantage vs that joke of what the Clippers refer to as a “home crowd”. Plus, I think this OKC team is better than the Clipper team we faced last year.
