What's new

OFFICIAL: Trade Deadline Thread

Then they'll re-sign all of our FA's in the off season and say they just want to see what this team can do when healthy.

Sorry had to put that out there.

What's scary is that this is not too far from the absolute truth. If I had to bet, Foye is re-signed, Mo is re-signed, either Tinsley or Watson is re-signed, and one of Paul or Al is as well. If this happens, just kill me now. Cool, it would open up time for Kanter and Favors but really we'd be the same team. Just three deep instead of four in the frontcourt.

Yeah, but just think what another year of playoff experience will do for this team. Why, by 2020, they might actually be ready to advance out of the 1st round!

I have the same fear as you. Whichever of Millsap/Jefferson accepts an offer will be back. Tinsley and Foye will be offered contracts and we already know Mo is in the plans. So turnover will really consist of bringing aboard two draft picks, signing some scrub to be the 3rd PG and replacing Carroll since we knwo he doesn't want to sit on the bench behind Marvin.

I wish the deadline would get here already. I feel like a prisoner to jazzfanz. I feel like I have to log on every ten minutes to see if we've made a trade.

I know how you feel. Ugh.

The worst part is knowing that there's a reasonable chance we'll have a had an actual shot at Bledsoe only for the FO to blow it up over some minor detail. Frustrating.

The vibe I'm getting is that we're going to stand pat. The jazz FO doesn't want to do anything which could risk their chances of making a playoff appearance. Even if it means getting swept by the Spurs in the first round.

I think if we were going to stand pat, there'd be media people telling us not to expect anything, so as to prevent fans from being disappointed. I think there are deals the Jazz want to do and are waiting to pull the trigger on.

So I just got back in town....

No trade.
Lowe arrested.
Al is a Good Samaritan.

Jazz host the Jacksonville Tankers tomorrow in a battle for 6th place.

Go Jazz.

Mike D'Antoni has remained intrigued with bringing exiled Jazz guard Raja Bell to Lakers, sources say.

Can we get a 2nd round pick for him? Toothpaste?

I'd trade Raja for a signed whatever that moustached man was from Gonzaga jersey. We could do a spy swap thing. We meet them at the airport, they give us the signed jersey, we hand over Raja.

It's really weird. We all had such high hopes for him... not sure what went wrong there.

Three-way trade?

Jazz receive: Eric Bledsoe, Caron Butler

Clippers receive: Paul Millsap, Chris Duhon

Lakers receive: Raja Bell

Works salary wise in the ESPN Trade Machine. Who says no?

If the jazz could turn Jefferson into Bledsoe instead of millsap I would be thrilled. I do think though that Jefferson is the odd man out in the four big rotation. I think the jazz really want to keep millsap and are not planning on re signing jefferturd. I think even off we do move millsap, al will not be in a jazz uniform next season, and hopefully not on Friday.

How does the Clippers' fan feel about Jefferson vs. Milsap?

I have to think Jefferson makes more sense for them than Millsap. He can play C, which Sap can not, and he's much better at providing half court offense, which has been a problem for LA all year. I think he'd be a lot more likely to re-sign, too. The only hold up is that they'd have to find more filler for Jefferson.

If the Jazz landed Bledsoe for Jefferson and managed to keep Millsap, I....I would likely cry tears of manly joy.

They have 0 chance of signing Jefferson long-term.

Why exactly? I thought Jefferson was some kind of saint.

But seriously, is there something besides whether he'd start or not that I'm missing here? I happen to agree that the Clippers would be better served with Al as well (though I haven't checked the salary sitch there).

Salary wise. I think Jefferson is in the 12-14 million range, and I doubt the Clippers are willing, interested, or able to pay that to Jefferson. I don't think Millsap is feasible for them either, but he would be slightly more so.

Which is why I don't think this trade happens unless we throw in Burks + a draft pick.

What we need to do is convince them to trade deandre. Then they will have the cap room for Albert. Also, here is a side note: I think Jeremy Evans true home is in lob city. Think of it. If he played with Chris Paul for like three minutes a game he would lead the league in dunks

OKC rumored to be aggressively shopping Maynor (...with a reportedly high asking price).

Any interest in bringing him back? I was a big fan of his game at VCU and his short stint here. Haven't seen much of him in OKC...
