OFFICIAL: Trade Deadline Thread

Getting opportunities for your potential, actual franchise players is not a lateral move. Or have you not been paying attention?

So you wanted the Jazz to trade Jefferson for a wing player, then, who, at 10 million dollars or more, would be better than Hayward and Burks, and thus they'd get more bench time, all the while leaving the frontcourt thin. Gotcha.

I'm guessing that now we'll see more Burks and Kanter and less Sap, Al, Foye and Marvin. Vet showcase is over.

At least we don't have Josh Howard and CJ Miles this year. Huh? Progress, I think.

Ya right, we wish.... i dont think anything will change :(

"We like the pieces we have"
"We like our flexibility this summer"
"Mediocrity is ****ing awesome"
"I spent my childhood in a plastic bubble so I'm averse to taking risks"
"We want to keep favors' *** warm"
"We have a big ol' boner for washed-up vets"
"how would we play kanter less than 10 minutes per game?"
"Randy and Earl told me they wouldn't like me anymore if Bledsoe took their minutes"
"Maybe when Kanter turns 30 he'll have some of that rare 'veteran savvy'"
"at least we got rid of CJ miles"
"We decided that it was best to keep Paul and Al around to help Kanter improve his English"

Think I covered all the bases.

Missed one: "Sometimes the best trade is no trade"

The hilarious part out of this whole thing is that two good showings at home against two slumping playoff teams (OKC on the road anyway) probably nailed the coffin on any deal being made.

Should be fun around here once Utah starts their next road trip.

I implore all of you to watch the games on TV if you want, but please, don't attend any more this year. Only way the ownership will get the message.

So it's over then? It's really over and I'm supposed to cheer for this **** sandwich the rest of the year?

A little piece of me died today when the Jazz FO decided to do jack **** to get this team out of the past.

I'm not quite getting all the outrage. There are some true garbage teams in the NBA, and I am glad that the Jazz aren't one of them.

Looking at the deals that did happen, the biggest names to move JJ Redick and Tobias Harris.

A bunch of whatev deals: Brewer and Maynor for 2nd-round picks, etc.

Yet the Jazz could even make a simple trade like getting rid of Bell for a 2nd or trading Earl Watson for Maynor. Seems like other teams can make deals but Utah struggles making decisions unless they are forced to do so.

Nobody trading any player of major stock at all. No one wanted to buy those types of players today. Look at the whole picture.

The new luxury tax is a double-edged sword. It helps to level the playing field, but it definitely puts a damper on major in-season trades.

Yeah, some people on here are not very realistic. Be happy that the Utah Jazz, located in Salt Lake City of all places actually has a pretty good NBA team. That feat in and of itself is a miracle.

Who would give up second for Bell that could take Bell's 3.48 M contract? OKC got a better deal than a min vet salary for Maynor.

Its just beyond me how you dont trade either jefferson or Millsap. Why do the jazz need all this cap room? So they can try and sign a bunch of C list free agents next year? Maybe theyll land josh smith but who the hell wants him. I hate having my teams go to move be Al jefferson on the left block. Lets all pray to the based god that the jazz miss the playoffs get a good draft pick and fire corbin.

According to the FO's thinking, partially to resign all the young guns should they prove themselves, and also because by next year, there is going to be a lot of teams hard up for cap space to avoid the tax. Jazz, having the least committed against the cap, stands to gain from that free for all.

I implore you to not implore me what to do. I probably won't hit up any more games this year anyway, but it won't be due to your imploring.
