Official Trades that are Official Thread

I think Locke was right when he said that this looks more and more like a long term rebuild than a one year suck, get Parker, then right back to the playoffs.

Get used to losing Jazz fans. We just became the Timberwolves. All so we could "compete" every night. Dang.

Evan Turner is solid, wish the pacers didn't get him. I wonder how much he'll get offered in the summer

They are buying out a 15 million dollar contract, damn, they are dedicated to out-suck the Bucks.
The deal gets them to the salary floor. That's exactly what they wanted to do.

Jazz could have been in a similar situation by not making the GS trade and carrying all their cap space into the deadline. Sixers wound up with a handful of 2nd rounders and traded two starters. Had Utah been their partner, we could have received Hawes, sure. Who knows what else we could have acquired. Maybe some junk expirings and additional seconds from LA to help them out? Contrast that against the two additonal firsts and a couple seconds that Lindsey acquired in the summer. Jazz came out HUGE winners, IMO.

What it comes down to is NO teams were desperate to shed salaries. The taxpayers decided in the summer they were willing to pay the penalties. Sixers dumped Turner because they a) are not planning to make him an offer and b) took on $7M in additional cap hit (but < half that in actual $ paid out) to reach the salary floor. I'm sure we could have made the same type of deal by offering a pick, which Indiana didn't give up. But why? Turner is going to be a FA. Don't let the draft position fool you. He shoots a terrible percentage.

I'm glad we didn't trade Williams. I know he's not a star but he's a decent defender and I hope we can re-sign him. It's not a shock noone wants Jefferson and we can always match Hayward if it's worth it.

At this point I agree with past posts - I would love to see Jefferson benched. Burks needs to play. This season sucks and we're basically in limbo but I hope we can at least play our core and guys we plan on keeping around.

The funny thing is that the Sixers didn't even need to do those moves at all, they have the 2nd worst record wrapped up, especially since the Magic didn't trade Afflalo.

Too bad the plan is going to backfire on them when Sultry Moultrie takes the league by storm.

So Philly just gains a few percentage points in the lottery odds and makes a preemptive move to fend off the Lakers.

Lakers won't be that bad once Young and Gasol come back....

Still fairly confident Jazz finish with the worst record in the west, especially if Kanter keeps starting in place of the "injured" Favors. Let us all be reminded by the stat that teh Jazz have a super impressive record of 1-22 when Kanter starts.

We're that bad when Kanter starts? Damn! I didn't think it was that bad. DL needs to hire you as a number cruncher! That's a depressing stat because I do like Kanter.

Hard to win games when your center allows guys like Andray Blatche to off for 25.

DL said he will evaluate players based on their ability to play defense. Clearly, Kanter can not defend his position (1-22) and it will be a while before he can. I wouldn't be surprised if Kanter is moved in the off season.

I would hope any number cruncher the Jazz hire would be bright enough to see that this season Kanter has only started when we were without an important part of our team (Burke early, Favors lately).

I hate this stat/argument. The whole team went 1-14 at the first of the season, which was when Kanter mostly started. We were without 3 of our top 8 players due to injury. We also had the worst PG rotation in the league. This just inflates the 1-22. Plus when ever Kanter does start we lack the depth at the 4 and 5 spots. We haven't even seen a fully healthy team with Kanter starting.

Dude, Kanter has been the main problem in losses. Last night, he allowed a lot of points, specifically to Blatche. If Favors is in there instead of Kanter, I think we easily win.
