Official UofU homer thread

I still think Wilson is not good enough to get Utah to the promised land.

The rest of the team has national championship potential (the o-line must improve a little and receivers might not quite be there yet) but Wilson will be the thing that holds them back imo

Pretty impressive team

Also, I know p5 schools like to talk about depth but if the injuries ever hit utah like they did byu then utah has no chance.

Booker or Wilson goes down and utah is in trouble

With all due respect. I disagree. Wilson doesn't exactly put up great numbers but his legs are a true threat, but none the less he is much improved and Booker and the defense are good enough to carry this team to a title assuming Wilson can manage the team and not throw silly picks like tonight.

Ya you might be right.
The rest of the team might just be good enough. I just have very little faith in Wilson
After all, I was at the ucla game when he threw 7 picks lol

Even though Goff had 5 picks I'm personally still very impressed with him, he made stupid mistakes at times caused by our pressure but man he's got a great arm and I love that he stayed in it pick after pick and never gave up....we won't face another QB like him all season imo so I still come away from this game excited and confident.

All Wilson needs to do is exactly what B Johnson did in 08. He didn't exactly light it up he wasn't more then a game manager. I think Wilson is a more dangerous threat on offense then Johnson.

There seems to be a lot of undue pessimism going on here.

If narrowly winning against an undefeated ranked opponent means the Utes are frauds, then every team is a fraud.

Who said Utah was a fraud? You're projecting here. Nobody is calling for/expecting Utah to be dropped in the polls. ****, if I don't think Utah is the best team in CFB, I'm a pessimist?

I am just as happy for the win as anyone else. But I have concerns. Get over it.

Utah should move past tcu in the polls. Other than that I don't think much changes.

If Wilson can play smart ball and have a few good completions for big plays here sand there, the team will probably not lose. A lot of Wilson's play does hinge on the o line, so their play is super important as well.

The defense is siiiiiiiiick though. Awesome job taking Goff out of the game for long stretches and causing all those turnovers.

This I completely agree with. Our D is f'real. Booker is f'real.

Wilson is good, but a bit schizophrenic.

"Get over it"? Christ, seriously? If you don't like your opinion being challenged, then don't post it on an internet message board.

It's one thing to say you don't think Utah is the best team in CFB. Quite another to say this should entirely remove Utah from the conversation. Like I said, if an ugly win over an undefeated ranked opponent is enough to remove a team from the conversation, then no team should be in the conversation.

So your concerned over the fact that Utah has the best Résumé. Win over Michigan who hasn't given up a point in three weeks. A 62-20 blowout against at the time 13 th ranked Oregon and last years #2 team in the nation. And a solid victory over a top 25 team with the top qb prospect and undefeated pack 12 team. There are less question marks for the Utes then any other team in the top ten. Ur grasping at straws

Let's also not forget that Utah was in control for most of the game and led for most of it. And if not fore a long play on a screen pass late in the first half, this game isn't even in jeopardy.

I think Utah jumps Mich St and TCU.

Great win.

Welcome to big boy football. Style points are irrelevant. If you win every game by 1 pt, you're a national champ.

Great win. Great win.

Big game coming up. I said before the season that the winner of the Utah/ASU game wins the south. I stand by that.

Great situation for Utah. Oregon loses, barely beat Cal, ASU has your number...good situation to get back to work. Any overconfidence should be gone, and Utah can easily lose this weekend. Time to get back to work.

Wilson better step it up big time for ASU. That game worries me a lot.

Was just happy we escaped in this one. I wasn't even making noise on that last drive, I couldn't manage anything other than being stressed as ****. When we broke up the play on fourth, I didn't even cheer. Just sat there with my face in my hands. Exhausting game.

I've said it all summer: the winner of the ASU/Utah game gets to play Stanfird for the PAC-12 title.
