What's new

Official UofU homer thread

Huge news if true. He'll step in to help with the loss of Poeltle(probably spelled wrong) after this year. My first though when I heard the news is that he'd be headed to Utah. I hope that's the case.

Rumors are rampant. I'm hearing BYU is another possible destination.
I wonder what the story is behind transferring at the beginning of a season.
That loss to Cal State MB was pretty bad... although I was there when Utah played them and they're not nearly as bad of a team as their score against Utah indicated.

You guys ended up passing on signing a a guy you had previously committed, right? For what reason if not Colette? And USU's coach is freely using the term "poached" so some team might have crossed the line here. All signs point to Utah. He's sacrificing a whole year and a half of actual basketball games to do it too, so it must have gotten pretty bad for him whether he didn't feel like they had the coaches to develop him or the outlook of the team was that bad. That's a lot of ball to give up. I bet he'll be a monster after he does nothing but develop during his off year though.

BYU is unlikely simply because they don't have room. I mean, I wish they could make room if he wanted to play there, but they are already over promised with schollies for next year and will have to help a couple players that currently have them find a new school next year as is. And they don't even have playing time really. The two posts that are going to start this year are coming back, and they add 3 highly thought of post guys next year. It's definitely Utah. Although it certainly doesn't have to be. I imagine almost any team would take him.

I guess time will tell. No news yet.

Any Ute fans planning on a Rose Bowl trip should they happen to make it there?

I've began the process of clearing my schedule in the event it happens and I saw some pre sale info on Rose Bowl tix in which the price was listed at just over $400 per ticket. There's gotta be cheaper prices once the teams are announced, right? Somebody please say yes.

I'm planning on going if they make it (same with Pac 12 title game). I'd say there has to be tickets much cheaper than that that can be had once the teams are announced. Massive stadium obviously. Maybe $250 or so?

I hope you're right. Can't pass it up regardless of price. Hell, the AZ schools have been in the PAC since the 70's and have a total of 1 Rose Bowl birth between them. You just never know if/when Utah will ever go back.

However, the less I spend on a ticket, the more I have to spend on LA area strip clubs. Priorities.

Dirty secret about the Rose Bowl:

I very rarely ever sells out.

Right now, most of the tickets are "controlled" by groups and companies in southern California.

Once teams are announced and they aren't USC or UCLA, a lot of those tickets will hit the secondary market and the prices will drop big time.

Thanks, I figured as much but that's nice to hear.

That goes for normal SC/UCLA home games as well on a more micro level. The deals you'll find from scaplers outside both those stadiums are amazing usually. If you guys travel to the Utah games in SoCal in future years, that's definitely the route you should take if you want to save $$$$ and don't care about sitting in the "Utah section".

If they make the rose bowl my family will probably go. Gotta take care of Arizona tonight though, expecting their best shot and will probably come down to the 4th quarter

We are due to smash someone. We need a good 45-17 win to let everyone know we still plan on winning the PAC-12.
