What's new

Official UofU homer thread

We beat everyone but oregon, who had our number and might be a final four team. Successful Pac-12 season. Now finish strong.

Ouch. As long as we aren't in Miami or Oregon's bracket.

Looks like a three seed for us. Oregon may jump to a one seed now. They had an amazing resume and destroyed us.

I've watched college basketball all year long and I don't know if there's a better squad than Oregon....wouldn't be suprised to see an Oregon vs UNC natty

Pretty awesome season

Just the beginning. Utah will roll Fresno State and hopefully Gonzaga beats Seton Hall, because Utah will roll Gonzaga.

Been an awesome season. And we are just getting better and better. It's amazing how much talent Coach K is getting through this school. You have to remember that the SR class is all kids who committed to Utah after a 6 win season.

Imagine how good the seniors will be in a year or two.

Chapman, Wright, Kuzma all have the ability to be better than Loveridge, Taylor and Tucker.

Coach K is putting together a great succession at Utah. It was Delon Wright playing with Poeltl and Wright was the star.

Now it is Poeltl playing with Bonham and Poeltl is the star.

Next year it will be Bonham playing with Johnson. And so on. And the supporting cast is just getting better and better.

If you think Utah is good now, wait until it isn't one star grooming the next star. Wait until it is two stars grooming the next two stars.

Wait until you have a Delon AND a Poeltl peaking together with a Bonham AND a Johnson being groomed.

One great thing about green... He is always humble and never has high expectations for the utes. No homerism whatsoever running through his veins

For a long time I honestly thought that whoever green was, it was some dude who was deep into cocaine.

I'm not so sure about that, Zags to me are a more scary team offensively than Seton Hall. Whitehead shoots sub 40% from the field and turns the ball over a lot. Wiltjer & Sabonis are much more efficient and could cause problems for us.

Those two are badasses.

Tbh, they were both better than kyle collinsworth this year and one of them should have won conference player of the year over collinsworth. Those collinsworth triple doubles were just too impressive for wilter and sabonas to overcome

They are very good players, but they don't match up well vs us. I'd much rather face Gonzaga than Seton Hall. Seton Hall can run. Those teams do well vs us. Teams like Gonzaga? We beat them and beat them candidly.

The most awesome victories are the candid ones.

Utah's being picked to go to the sweet 16 in only 52% of the brackets on espn. lack of respect for utah, or respect in seton hall/gonzaga?

gonzaga is a recognized name so i can kind of understand it, they have 19% of people picking them in sweet 16 which is by far most for a double digit seed

I looked at last years tournament challenge and only 7.2% of brackets had Utah going to the sweet 16. And the utes were also a trendy pick to lose to Stephen F Austin in the first round, 40.3% had SFA! So I guess I should be happy with 52%

When is their first game?

Utes will make it to the sweet 16 than get crushed by Michigan St who will go on to win the whole thing
