My enthusiasm is high, just my expectations aren't, Washington is really good and we're really hurt.

There's a reason Gameday hasn't seen Washington yet. If Utah were to win out they're in the playoff. How many teams can still say that?

We're talking big boy football in this thread bro. Meet me in the byu thread if you wanna break down X's and O's for the byu vs Wyoming Poinsettia Bowl matchup!
 
I get that Washington looks good, but 3 things...

1) They haven't played anyone as good as Utah yet.

2) Arizona took Washington to OT.

3) We are the Utes.

If Utah can ugly up the game a little, and turn it into a classic Whittingham meat grinder game, we have a good shot at it.

I believe Utah's best season in the Pac-12 ended with them playing BYU in a bowl game...

I guess if Utah beats Washington this week you have a real solid team, if not I guess its another Vegas Bowl season? Maybe you can get lucky and play BYU twice this season?

None this year, but I feel pretty good about our history and future. Should be a decent game against Utah, 2 teams on the same level this year for once. Its hard for teams who play for national championships to lose a couple games and stay motivated when they dont quite have the talent at key positions.

None next year either. It's becoming more and more obvious that Oregon St is the future of Oregon football. (figuratively and literally)

Didnt start with trash talk but ya'll are very defensive and get your feeling hurt so easy. Just pointing out the fact that you are making fun of BYU for their bowl game options and your best season in the Pac-12 is playing BYU in their bowl game.

All true, but all that really matters is the third statement. The one thing I will say is the O line needs to step up in pass protection. I hope Joe has another classic in him.

Mediocrity is better? Guess you can take that as your slogan. Never going to at the top or at the bottom - Utah!

Ill take competing for national championships and being in the top 10 at the end of the season 6 out of the last 8 seasons and having a couple down years. But to each their own.
