Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

I think the front office will need to move a couple of vets for us to be able to tank. The schedule is going to get easier soon, and we just have too much talent on the roster to be a bottom 5 team in the west. If we keep the roster intact, we likely finish somewhere between 7 and 10 and will be in the play in tournament.
I would agree for other parts except 6th is definitely in play. Out of all teams currently above us, the top 5 seem like the better bets for home court. I'm not buying Blazers or Kings stocks atm, and could very well see them slide down to play in.

To reverse engineer the great Dennis Green:
GSW and Mavs are not who we thought they were (and they are letting us off the hook).

This… at least one big lose now move… so JC/Mike/KO/Vando/Beasley for no returning on court value or better yet a project like Wiseman or Cam Reddish that can actively hurt us on court in the name of player development.

We also need to milk injuries… so the Srxton Hamstring lingers for an extra week or two… the KO ankle lingers too. We’d need to go on a major losing streak… like 7-10 games like the Wiz and Spurs have…

Basically it ain’t happening.

The Wolves have moved ahead of the Jazz in the standings, for now at least. I fear we're going to end up with one bad pick and two mediocre picks. I know this is a deep draft, but it will be disappointing not to end up with a top 5 pick and most likely not even a top 10 pick.
As things stand, I don't think we get a top 10 pick.

I think Dallas and GS will end up passing us (as long as GS weathers the storm with Steph)... so we likely land close to that range. I think if the Minny pick ends up like 17-18 we could pair it with a Cavs or Minny future pick and move up to the 9-12 range if we feel its worth it.

I really just want us to land Anthony Black. I think he's just such a great fit for the things we need. If we landed a top rated guy by jumping into the top 4 I wouldn't be too sad though.

It's not just that we need the T'wolves to lose games, we need the teams near to them in the standings to win games. Warriors, Mavericks, Lakers...we need them to get their act together to keep Minny in the #10 or #11 spot.

worst case scenario now imo is the Jazz win the play in get swept as an 8th seed in the first round, and the pick they would have had late lottery, had they lost the play in game, ends up turning into Victor or Scoot smh. But the odds are so bad for that too happen I am hoping, they just make the choice to sell some vets in the next month, and tank if the pick is that important. Otherwise I want them to get the 6 seed if they can and be a bracket buster.

Minnesota lost to Dallas tonight!
I thought they were going to bench Rudy late… Dallas looked like ****… Minny was trapping and doubling Luka and they couldn’t hit anything for three quarters… finally got hot late.

Gobert is having the worst year of his career since 2016-17.

His PPG, RPG, BPG, and FG% are all the lowest they have been in each category in the last 5 years.

He’s a -56 on the season. He always had insane +/- stats with us and hasn’t been lower than +293 total in a season in the last 6 years.

Kessler’s per 36 stats this year:

13.5 PPG, 12.6 RPG, 3.7 BPG, 75.2% from the field on 7.7 FGA per game.

Gobert’s per 36 stats this year:

16.4 PPG, 14.1 RPG, 1.4 BPG, 66.1% from the field on 9.4 FGA per game.

Pretty awesome stuff from the rookie.

We’d have picks 12/18/27 if the draft was today. Really not bad at all. I would absolutely love it if the Minnesota pick lands in the top-10.
Prolly pretty close to where we will be.

this pick is getting worse and worse should have moved it already.
I guess maybe there is a Jokic in this draft somewhere later if they can find him

We need it to be 8, 10, 24.
my prediction as unrealistic or optimistic as it shows is this:
the Wolves will get it together and sneak into the playoffs via a play in game against none other than the Jazz who will then win the lottery after the play in losses from the 13th spot in the standings.
The Nets Philly pick at 24-28 will be traded
1-4 + 15-16 + trade return

Its disgusting that those damn Lakers cannot even pretend to threaten the .500 mark. They gonna give Minny a freebie and serve the Pels with a top pick.

I mean, imagine leading a game by 11 at half time and then being down by 19 at the end of 3rd quarter... how can you even be that inconsistent? And Dallas didnt even run the score against their bench... Lebron, Russ, Lonnie and Bryant were team low -22 in that quarter.

Every time Lakers lose is a great day. Just hope we draft sf like 6’7-6’9 with some shooting, they will always have a career if D is right there.
