Official Utah Utes Football 2012 Thread

I get a different message, and I'm sure Blechen is smart enough to get it too. I'm suspending you because I have to or I will get into trouble. I care more about winning than whatever it was you did though. It fits right in with the way "BCS" teams handle the soft punishments they give out.

On a side note, I don't know what he did or didn't do so for all I know 3 games is harsh.

On a tangent note, Nice sig line.

P.S. ... nope, got nothin.... oh yea..... the Utes stink bla bla bla bla... you know all the stuff I am required to say.

From what I have read it was for smoking weed. The Utes policy i think is that the first time you're caught it's a warning, 2nd time it's a suspension for 25% of the season and the 3rd time you're off the team. So really it didn't come down to a decision at all, just policy.

Nice, then it worked out nicely.

I'm surprised the policy is not that they get kicked off anytime they are caught without a big fattie.
Good to know, thanks for the info.

Utes will be good this year, better than last year by a mile. We're better on offense and lost some decent LB's but this years LB's are bigger and much more athletic, but inexperienced. OT is another issue but there are some guys that can step in and do a good job.

RB is improved with York backing up White.

Scott at WR is another huge upgrade. I'll bet anyone $500 the dude is in the NFL when his college career is over. Big, strong, physical, fast and great hands. Dres will be better. Will also be in the NFL if he limits his drops.

D line is improved (Can that be possible) Junior Salt is going to be a monster (I think) Nate Fakafahua will hopefully be a complete DE and will be our pass rusher we have lacked since Paul Kruger

Will be an interesting battle to see whoever takes that SS job for the first 3 games

Isn't he mission bound? Heard he is a faster Blechen with better coverage
Yes, I believe he has his call in hand to Texas. I think it's even earlier than normal so that when he gets back he can compete for playing time in 2014. And yes he is very quick. Very good in coverage. I'm not sure how physical he will be in run support but not a big deal. He is big. He was going up against some of our kids who are D1 and taking care of them just fine. One of those guys you just don't test or he makes you pay.

And yes I have a mancrush on him.

I think it was ESPN where I heard that Utah will be the only or toughest test for USC. It's cool to hear stuff like that from the national media.

I'm one of those guys that likes to see teams I root for face opposition that is at full strength, but that certainly doesn't hurt BYU's chances. I think that shaggy-haired QB that can wing it a lot better than people give him credit for is dreaming of throwing jump balls to Hoffman in the middle of the field all day long in that game now.

Not a big deal, and here is why:

Northern Colorado - Easily the worst team in all organized football. They made NMSU look like powerhouses last year.

BYU & Utah State - two teams on the same skill level (see their last two games). Both are running teams, with inefficient passing QB's that can run. Utah will run 8-9 guys in the box against those two teams, and will be successful with it. Switching Blechen out for a fourth LB won't make that much of a difference.

ASU - when it matters, Blechen is back.

I had no idea you could do this. Austin Lee is not even 19 til December but has his mission call in hand. I knew you could do like 2 months early but I didn't know 6 months. He says he wants a full year when he gets back to be ready for 2015.

I'm debating going to the games at Corvallis and Seattle. I'm hoping I can pull this off. Also, I'm looking forward to, hopefully, a better year.

GO UTES!!!

So is that Pac 12 channel going to come to Directv or not? How about standard Comcast cable? Do any of even have it for certain right now? Luckily I don't think SC will be playing on it much this year, but I still would like to watch some Utah games. (this isn't smack talk btw, I'm really curious what that situation is)

I might be wrong but I think Comcast has it on the same tier as ESPN. I haven't read anything for a couple weeks but I read that a deal with directv won't get done until the right before the season. Negotiations wont heat up for a week or 2.

Google Jon Wilner PAC 12 network. He has the best info.
