Official Utah Utes Football 2012 Thread

The two fumbles on Riley that were changed to incompletions were the right call. It still sucks to have so many almost TO's that get reversed or negated because of a penalty.

The penalty on the hit in the end zone (Mo Lee?) was bad, but depending on the angle the ref had I can see what he was calling, but yeah it was wrong.

The thing I thought was insane, and I want to get input from people who were watching the game on tv or are more objective than me, was how terrible of spots Utah got on almost every play and how generous of spots byu got. I am incredibly biased, but I dont remember ever seeing anything like how terrible of spots we got last night. I swear we were losing a yard or two on almost every single spot. Am I crazy?

Getting called classless by a fan of a team that marches their flag throught the opponent band and bumps into them while they try and do their routine is hilarious. Getting called classless by a fan base that has a player intentionally attempting to seriously injure the opponent after the whistle is even more funny.
This post is entirely hilarious and more funny then anything I've seen in this thread.

The refs were dumb both ways no question.

I don't remember thinking this, or seeing it. But you're not the first person to bring it up, so there may be something to it.

You're not crazy. The spots were bad all game long. I watched the game again this morning and there's at least 6 legit bad spots given to Utah. We're talking at least 2 yards off. BYU had a couple as well, but in both cases it was 3rd down and they were still short even if the spot was correct.

I didn't notice any generous spots given to either team though.

Congrats to Utah. They outplayed BYU and deserved to win. I'm glad the FG was missed at the end. Technically the call was correct, but the penalty should have never been whistled. BYU missed the 1st kick and that should have been the game.

BYU will be headed to the Poinsettia Bowl, but at least they don't have to share their payout with any league doormats. I don't see Utah getting in a bowl, but the Pac-12 alliance nets them a very good share of bowl revenues each year. So a winning situation for both universities.

The first time we won I was like yeaaa! The 2nd time we won I went whooooooo! The 3rd time we won, I think my face exploded and then I rushed the field. Utah 4-1 on the season!!!

The bar ****ing erupted and I almost lost my voice, it was such a blast! Best feeling ever! ;p Nice try though BYU.

We just beat you TDS without our star RB, 2 S's that were on the freshman All American team and Wynn. Utah out played BYU except the 4th when Utah stopped being aggressive. I really hate when Utah does that. But, great win :)

When is Utah's next win? How many more wins this year?

If White is back and semi-effective? If they're not committing a mountain of penalties? If Hays is even AS good as he was last night? Somewhere in the .500 mark for the rest of the season, IMO.

But if they don't have all of those factors? eeeeee

I sure did. Multiple times BYU was given a first down because of a bad spot. Replays on the stadium screen confirmed. Many times the crowd outright booed, and a few times that's why.

I would rather be forced to share and get $4-5 million (we get shares of the PAC-12 Championship game, remember) than get it all and only get $1-2 million. And that assumes a lower tier bowl for us.

In other words, "getting" to keep it all is not exactly a victory.

byu wont do a whole lot more than break even on their bowl trip.
