Official Warrior Watch: Draft Pick and Playoff Positioning

5 games back.

They're not getting that rose bro.

So what you're saying is that the bachelor would rather go for a hot young thing compared to an older girl?

Yes that may be true... only for a while though. Once that hot fling period with young babe is over, the older, more experienced fox is going to slowly reel in her man using every tricks in the book imaginable. You know what I'm talking about.

I'm picking the experienced fox over the young chick/babe any day of the week.

How far up do you think we can move by packaging the 14 and 17? Top 10?
Is the gap between 10 and 14 worth losing the 17th pick?

Depends on how you project the draft to play out. If you really want a certain player, then it might be.

I've thought about this quite a bit. As much as I'd love Oladipo, the need for a PG that we can move forward with is just at critical mass. I'm trying to be open to McCollum, but I don't see a PG, and MCW just doesn't play at a level that impresses me when I watch (he puts up quiet numbers and doesn't seem to put any real pressure on the other team). I guess if the difference is getting Burke or not. But if you can get Burke and keep the other pick, I think you do that. Everyone I like is projected in the middle right now.

Anything out of the top-10 is generally a crap shoot. In some drafts, that even goes lower. If you trade both to move up, you better be pretty sure the player is going to pan out. I think a better bet would be to keep both picks. Odds are that one will turn out to be a quality player (the Snyder/Humphries disaster notwithstanding).

If forced to bet, I'd rate the likelihood of seeing both draft picks at summer league as very low. I think KOC was working on setting up deals at the deadline, just as he did with the Jefferson trade. In fact, I'm hoping they've arranged a Bledsoe trade once CP3 re-signs.

As I've said multiple times in other threads, we can also move up with S&T's. Let's say we finish with the 14th and 20th picks. We could maybe package our 20th pick and Al in a S&T to move up to #13 (Charlotte currently owns it via Portland) for Ben Gordon's expiring. They get an anchor down low and still get the 20th pick. We move up. We would then have picks 13 and 14, and some more maneuverability there with a Millsap S&T also a possibility.

In fact, in the scenario above, Charlotte would still get their crazy high pick this summer, the #20 and add Jefferson...much better than keeping Gordon imo...or maybe not and it's just wishful thinking.

Charlotte is one team that might actually improve with Al. There's no way they can be worse, anyway, and they need someone, ANYONE, that can score a ****ing basketball.

Not sure if this works. You cant sign and trade before the draft.

I'd think there would be some way you could do it just like the Ray Allen trade unofficially went through, though that's different. Maybe it's not as simple but I'm sure there would be a way to get it done.

That's what I'm saying. Draft Noel, let him get to 100%, draft Adetobunko at #20 and stash overseas for a couple years, suck again next year, and draft Wiggins.

Walker
Wiggins
MKG
Jefferson
