ECTYA, what happened with your sig?

It was not up-to-date since I was absent for the last month-an half, so I put it aside temporarily.

Why are you so low about the Jazz?

Why are you so low about the Jazz?

Jazz barely made it to playoffs last year and I think they did not improve that much while other teams like Minnesota, Nuggets, Clippers improved a lot. I do not understand everybodies love for Grizzlies though... to me they look like they can be outside of playoffs this year. Dallas still has Nowitzki who alone can keep team in playoff race. Warriors look extremely interesting, but it all depends what kind of Curry they will get, one who is always injured or one who can play at top level at least 70 games.

Jazz finish a game behind Denver for 3rd in the NW

1. SAS
2. OKC
3. LAL
4. LAC
5. UTA
6. DEN
7. DAL
8. MEM

Even though LA and OKC are regarded as top contenders, I believe SAS would be the leader of the regular season. There will be battle between Clips, Denver and us for the 4th-6th spots. They will be placed in any order. No way Dallas would miss the playoffs, neither Memphis. They just have enough talent and experience.

You sound like ESPN. Denver will only be as good as Iggy let's them be, and the Wolves will continue to be plagued by injury, if not another retirement.

Denver was better then Jazz without Iggy. So not sure why he is suddenly becoming such a diffrence maker in their greatness. They are deep enough to be good without him and he is just added bonus. Wolves can certainly be doomed by injuries, does not mean they will happen for sure.

Well I say OKC, Utah, Den and Minny will all be in the playoffs but only time will tell us who is truly better.

1. OKC
2. SA
3. LA Lakers
4. Utah Jazz
5. Denver
6. LA Clippers
7. Memphis
8. Dallas

Minnesota makes a late charge but can't make up the ground lost due to the injuries to Rubio and Love.

NBA Finals: Jazz over Brooklyn

Just kidding...

NBA Finals: OKC over Miami.

Scoring the predictions

I took a cut at "scoring" our predictions. The score below is the average difference between the predicted place in the standings and the actual current place in the standings (per ESPN on March 20). So if one predicted the Jazz to come in 5th place and they are currently in 9th place, the score for the 5th place prediction would be 4. Low scores are better. I used a simple Excel spreadsheet, feel free to check my math. I'll update from time to time if there is interest.

Prophet, not

If this happens you will replace Kicky as the board prophet.

With a second place finish, not quite a prophet, but pretty damn close with predicting Denver, Memphis and Warriors ascent and Lakers demise. Was premature in the Spurs falling from power.

Maybe, but I wouldn't be suprised if the Spurs wheels fell off in 1st round.

yep

Agreed. But I do love the Spurs and their fundamental hoops year after year. Reminds me of #12 and #32 of years gone by
